Hello guys and gals,

I’ve had the Escort M1 for about 5 years now, and it simply quit working. Upon power up, it blinks red and has a continuous beep.

I formatted the original SD card several times, same result. I then bought a brand new Sandisk SD card, and same result. Constantly beeping with the red light flashing, and not recording.

Am I screwed here? Has anyone had this issue or heard of something like this? I performed a search here and on Google and can’t find anything.

Thank you in advance,
Colin

Sorry, I can not help you but when I first red the title via notifications I thought you was talking about one of these bad boys.

Now that's a real man Ford. :) Well at least for us EURO boys, but in rally trim thrown around on a dirt road, i am sure any American in the codriver seat would cream in a combination of joy and fear.
CUZ back then they had nothing that could do that.
Even today i would walk thru fire for a RS 2000 in mint condition.

Back on topic, yeah i think your old system are toast, look for a new one with Sony starvis 2 sensor in it.

O and welcome to the forum Colin.

I kinda figured, as I tried to install the firmware update and the computer wouldn’t even recognize the cam was connected, just kept beeping and flashing.

Thank you for the welcome! I’ll be checking out the forum to see what different setups people are running.

Take care,
Colin

There is the pic heavy thread about where people have installed their camera, but it dont see much action compared to the old days i think, but still worth a look for the general feel.
Cars are different in what go on on the windscreen, mine for instance are completely clean and i can have 5 wedge shaped cameras or so with no problem, yet other cars have a big sensor island which do complicate things as then you have to mount off that or offset to a side from it.
