Is your mic a stereo one?
I bought my Git2 on GearBest and also I bought an external mic there: http://www.gearbest.com/action-cameras-sport-dv-accessories/pp_234790.html According to description it's a stereo mic, but when I opened its USB connector, I found that it's a mono mic, cause there are just 2 wires. So I have only left channel audio on my video recording

I guess the camera thinks it is stereo, must have the wrong value resistor.

presumably if you connect the left and right inputs together it will work fine with the sound going to both channels, or you could change the resistor value to the correct one for mono...

I don't know how Git2 detects mono/stereo. For GoPro you need resistor in USB connector or adaptor. But here there is not any resistor but it works

Yeah my external mic its exacly like yours Al_Chemist, and that“s sucks. Hope gitup fixed this, i have no problem with mono audio since they appears on both channels (left+right). Did you discovery any usb stereo phone that actualy works with git2?

I found that 3.5mm to USB adaptors from GearBest (like that: http://www.gearbest.com/photography-accessories/pp_19334.html ) are also working only for mono. So now I'm ordered and waiting for 3.5mm and mini USB connectors and I'm going to made adapter myself - I have Sony ECM-CS3 stereo mic - it seems to be working quite well, but also for only one channel - so I need another adapter. I don't decide - maybe I cut off 3.5mm connector of mic and connect it directly to mini USB connector. Or maybe I made 3.5 mm to mini USB adapter.

in fact, I bought the PRO pack. with original phone, and this phone is stereo recording when I change from one side to another. but for video editing the sound is just on the left. My question after the comments would be: the phone is sold mono or stereo?

The version we sold before for Git1 is a mono version, but while used on Git2, Git2 will detect it as stereo version, so there is only one channel sound.
We have stopped that version, and sell new mono version, it can work well on Git1 and Git2.

It seems the adapter in the market will be detected as stereo version on Git2. For stereo, we use the iGomic for sample, so the resistor is not same.

But igomic cost 159?! Come on. Its so Hard to fixed or join both audio on one?

We will check it, maybe we can make one, or we will find adapter which can support stereo.

Anyone know if there is a shorter adapter cable to use external stereo microphone and at the same time charge the unit while it is recording video ?

Would be nice if there was a mini-USB connector cable that spreads out into two parts, one micro USB connector or similar that would charge the unit if you then connect it to a external power bank (while recording video), and the other a 3.5 stereo microphone input plug.

That is the only thing missing for the Gitup2 or am I wrong ?

Of course using a USB microphone would work too but I would still like a adapter cable, as it would be nice to be able to power the unit with external power while using external microphone to record sound.

Ah, ok that is great. How does it fit onto the camera, is the connection good.

Does that record in stereo or is is just mono piped to both left and right channel ?

That is just the right thing I need, great. How does the sound work, and how do you
know what recording level to use ?

Does the camera have build in amp or suppression or is is it just a "line in" connection
when using external audio ?

I take it the audio into the camera is analog and they are just using the extra pins on the
mini-USB plug and saving money not having a extra 3.5 port (or I guess it just is to big to use
on such a small camera).
