Hahaha, this has to be the most stupid stories about customs I ever heard, and I heard lots of them. Hahaha.

We heard many similar stories while dealing with Germany customs.

...waiting for my sj5000xelite, today arrives a letter from custom service. They confiscated my cam, because it should be a fake and they will test it about that. If they turn out that is a fake they will destroy cam and police will send me an ticket. So i cannot play this contest.
So i have nothing to make footages, i have been waiting about outsending the first batch

Someone in customs probably owns an SJCAM or bought a fake and probably wants to use the verification code to verify.

The contest will still be running so you can enter next week or whenever you receive your SJ5000x Elite.

Viktor vom SJCAM today send me a certification and The custom office said at telephone they do not need certification, they send the cam directly to gopro because it looks like a gopro fake to test that. They mean it is a not legal rebuilding from gopro. They are fully clueless but do not let speak with. They handle me like a criminal.
I am very angry because no time while lying in hospital since monday, this would be last order from china. And i was so happy waiting on preorder

It would be good if you actually read 2 emails I have sent to you instead writing on a forum.
Nobody is going to destroy it, what are you talking about? Its stuck on customs because you declared a value higher than I told you and you also shipped it with DHL even though I told you multiple times to send it via regular post.
I have been in touch with them, worst case scenario package will return to you due to inability to determine their value. Then I will pay you for your expenses and you will ship it to the winner directly.
This is what happens when you ship with DHL here, I warned you.
I do not get the point of talking about packet stuck in customs in public,.

...worst case is custom office confiscate and opening it and then they say after proofing from a specialist this is violation of rights ( he is boss if right or not)and they will destroy it. You can sign and fax before you do not want that but they make you fear about court proceedings and you have to oay for it.
That are rules in germany i have momently the same pocedure with sj5000elite...

Problem is laws here. Actually the lack of laws.
DHL here is probably the worst ever shipping service. These guys act like Gods.
Just to give you an example in my SJM10+ case.
They are making me pay 40$ + (customs + tax + tax on customs.).
While customs expenses are something I am used to, 40$ fee is for "DHL worker filling out documentation for customs"
So I think the dream job is filling out DHL paperwork for 40$ per packet
My last packet from DHL had a total of 110$ custom fees for a 80$ camera.

...also i have certificates for the sj5000 elite from viktor from sjcam he is sales manager i mean. The custom service not matter about that, the tester for violation rights of design ironically is a reseller from gopro!!!
If they do not want sj5000x on market they made
