It's like insurance companies. They basically found some B.S. excuse to not fix an expensive repair under warranty by blaming an unrelated modification. They stated the Fuse Taps from the Dashcam "Damaged the Electrical System" and that the other safety systems with faulty components occurred as a result of the fuse tap install. Absolute bull****....But that's how they wiggled out of a Warranty Repair. Then, dealer flagged vehicle.

I'm not saying this happens often, but the risk is there.....

Returning to advice for using fuse taps and orientation, I like the image associated with both of the videos you posted (I didn't watch either video in full, though). The part that I like is that I see a DMM in the image for each video.

Here is my perspective: Without a DMM in hand AND knowledge about how to use it, you probably shouldn't be anywhere near your car's fuse box or any other kind of electrical wiring. People can and will argue about fuse tap orientation, but only a DMM will confirm proper fuse tap orientation without any guesswork. I spend time on a variety of electronics forums and the number of people who play with electricity without understanding electricity is truly alarming.

Absolutely!! Any home hobbyist or DIY person should have a DMM. Even an inexpensive one from a big box store is better than the standard light tester. Once someone has a DMM, it seems to encourage them to experiment and learn more.

Arguing about fuse orientation is about as fruitful as arguing the theory of electron flow. 😀
