Hi guys, I had two concerns about my G1WH and my A118C. I've had the G1WH for over a year now and I love it, but wanted to try out the new A118C. While installing my A118C, my G1WH suction cup mount broke (perhaps because i was too rough trying to get the A118C to fit on it).Is there any way I could purchase a replacement suction cup mount for my G1WH or something similar? Also, for the A118C, I'm not a fan of the double sided tape mounting, is there any alternative? Can I also purchase more A118C mounting plates if there isn't an alternative? (I'd like to be able to switch between vehicles if possible.)

Thanks in advance, I apologize for the plethora of questions.

I found these:

any input? are these the right size?

Yes, the GT300W and LS300W mounts will work with your G1WH. The G1WH is basically a clone of those cameras.

There are many styles available on eBay that will fit the camera.

For your A118C you might consider using 3M Dual-Lock Tape (also sold as Scotch Heavy Duty Fasteners) which works like Velcro but is much stronger and more stable. Many people use it to mount dash cams so they can be removed from the vehicle but mounted securely with no vibration. THIS thread has a lot of information about it.

these suction mounts are unlikely to fit the 118C as the tab on those models is much smaller

spare mounting plates are readily available for these though

Thanks Dashmellow & jokiin. I was considering modifying the tab on the G1WH for the A118C but then it won't be flush to the windshield as I'd like. I don't know much about other dashcams besides these two so I didn't know what's a similar reference, thanks for clarification on that! I'll check those and the thread, and look up spare mounting plates!

Somehow on eBay, the items do not ship to my location, and the shipping for a bracket on Amazon is $10 alone, I came across i-Saddle's website and am now looking at the following:

Those should work. The basic answer to your question is that the GT300W style mount will work with your G1WH.

Jokiin is right. A spare mounting plate for your A118 is the best solution for that camera. The Dual Lock Tape will work if you don't want to use a mounting plate. The suction mount from an incompatible camera won't get you too far and would sort of ruin the discreet design of the A118 even if it could fit.

check with @Pier28 they have a bunch of different brackets, not sure if they're all listed but from memory they do keep some low profile models that would work for the G1W series, they also have the mounts for the A118

you can find them ex China from Aliexpress and the like but maybe a bit hit and miss from some of these suppliers, would likely take a few more weeks to get to you as well

I just saw some stuff I might consider getting from Pier28, thanks!
In the meantime, i'm borrowing a suction cup from a coworker as I test these two side-by-side, it seems as if the A118C isn't that great in dark places at night. I bumped up the exposure to compensate.

G1W normally come with an f/1.8 lens, the A118 is f/2.8

All else being equal the G1W is going to have the advantage at night

Oh wow.... that explains why. In that case I'd rather use it as a rear camera and leave my G1WH up front. I'll do more research than bug you for questions, I really do appreciate all the information.

I bought a "New StarTech.com Mini USB Cable - A To Left Angle Mini B - 3 Feet USB2HABM3LA" on eBay for my A118C to get it higher up on the windshield. Cost was less than $8.00 & free s/h. Here is URL: https://www.ebay.com/itm/131688977229IMG_1762.JPG
