Has anyone tried the Type S S403 dash cam (4k60FPS)?

I'm not sure the SoC can handle the workload necessary to produce proper 4K 60fps video. If the firmware is attempting to do more than it needs to or inefficiently handling the workload, there could be tweaks to the firmware that could help. For instance, the status LED on the rear definitely blinks too quickly/much while recording. There might be small tweaks that could be made to free up processing capacity for the video workload. If Type S can produce a firmware update to resolve the problem, I'll be happy to test it out.
If there was a little bit of duplicate or dropped frames I'd put hope in a firmware update fixing things up. But the fact it's in such a poor state, I severely doubt they're going to be able to fix this.

Having completed one frame, it is too late to catch the next, doesn't need to be very late, just a tiny bit late means missing a complete frame, so there is no way of knowing if it needs a tiny improvement to make it work almost perfectly, or if it needs an impossibly large improvement to get close to 60fps.

Maybe they should run it at 48fps to make it reliable?

Putting 4K60 to one side for a moment, does this camera deliver decent results at 4K30?

If they can't run it at 60 then 48 shouldn't even be in the discussion either. The whole thing has been a mess, the product and the rep has rubbed people the wrong way here on the forums too.
