HK3 hardwire problem solved

Hi- I am new here but couldn’t find this item discussed. After hooking up my hardwire kit, I couldn’t get the unit to power. Finally discovered the circuit I chose for the battery connection, while it had power with the key off, was no longer powered as soon as the key is turned on. I didn’t look what this circuit powered, but have never experienced a circuit that was no longer hot after the ignition was turned on. Hope this helps someone. (2014 Chevrolet Silverado)
