How is it possible to take a picture with the A119 V3 ??

When you say that you see the orange dot blinking / so it is recording & THEN the LCD goes blank, what do you mean by it goes BLANK? Is the LCD ON but no live view or menu items? Or is the LCD black? But is the device still on? (Rec button should be glowing Red or not glowing Red means it's not recording) or has the screensaver started & turned off the LCD display but the device is still recording (Rec button glowing Red)? Just press a button to see what happens, although the Rec button should be either Red = Device On & Recording, Not Red = Device Off or in Menu Mode or Not Red = Power Off? Which is it?

If the problem is not the SD card & the LCD goes blank BUT the Rec button glows Red, then your screensaver has probably timed on to turn off the Screen / LCD but the device is still On & recording & will continue to record, until it is powered off (assuming other settings are correct), That is normal behaviour: You see the orange light blink so it's recording, the LCD blanks out because the screensaver has started (user setting for when the screensaver starts to blank out the LCD), the recording starts & loops based on the Recording Loop user setting, 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 minutes, and with the LCD blank, you should see the bottom left of the device the REC button glow red, meaning it is recording & the device is On / Working / Recording. If the device were not recording, then you would hear the sound alarm, Beep, Beep, Beep ...... until you press the Rec button to turn the alarm off & start recording.

If you do a firmware update, you must redo all your settings. See steps or instructions on how to install Firmware by BC Hobbyist here, although he does not include what to rename v3 firmware, if it needs renaming, as v3 firmware would come from the Viofo Support site, so it may not need renaming. The instructions by BC Hobbyist are otherwise the same for all Viofo firmwares, which is why I mention it.

IF none of the above is what you are experiencing, then it may be a problem SD card. Lots of forum info on that.

YES after you redo & figure out your settings AFTER reading how to install the firmware & watching the settings video by BC Hobbyist, test it out in your car by driving for 10 - 30 minutes. Then view the SD card on your computer or if you understand how via the manual, use the Play Mode. You won't need to watch all the videos but only to see if there are a bunch shown as thumbnails or file names. Hopefully it's not a bad SD card issue. I use a Samsung Evo 32 MB in my v2 A119 that is a few years old, so far, so good. I have not tried cards as large as you are & have no experience with them. Again, folks here have given good advice, as will BC Hobbyists site & other web or youtube sites. You can also buy Viofo SD cards direct from the Viofo website.

The Viofo cards may be some of the best available for dashcam use today- he has given the card manufacturer cams which they actually test the cards with to ensure they are functioning as intended. AFAIK nobody else has reached out this far with the card manufacturers 👍The prices are good so it's the card I'd recommend although there are others which seem to do well with the V3.
