Looking to buy a night vision dash cam

Okay.
I was not aware.

I can not follow things i like too much but cant / wont afford, that would just drive me over the edge i am teetering on mentally.
My night vision scope also have a HDMI port, but i will not get a small screen to plug into it

But it is mute, you should not be looking at a little screen while driving, or like i did when i was younger and bigger idiot, drive 120 km/h on the motorway at 4-5 in the morning, driving km after km by solely looking in the R wing mirror and the white line marking the transition to the EMG lane that was visible in it.
It would have been ugly if something was in the road, like the day when i found a blacked out dark green police car there.
It was pure luck i avoided it and threw my car down the off ramp there ( probably how the police car got onto the motorway ) and do my braking there.

Actually what i yelled at the police that morning, today as Denmark gotten even more insane would land me in prison, CUZ civil servants here are now protected by law, and you better respect them.

There is an option you may have missed but I'm not sure if it suits what you are trying to do but worth mentioning I figured.

The Viofo A329 has an HDMI port (Not sure its output res. My simple test showed low res on my 4K TV.)
If the camera is suitable then you could attached a HDMI cable to any size screen you need which may help with your night time driving question.

It really sounds like a night scope is what you really need. Not IR type but the image intensifiers type.
I'm not planning on driving with my headlights off, I was just wanting to have as good night vision as I can get sent to an old iPhone on my dash in front of me real time when driving on heavily forested and narrow roads at night.

I am not familiar / personal experience with that brand, but @Vortex Radar on here and youtube have tested those and compared to other too.
I do have some friends who have experience with thermal cams where you can drive in pitch black darkness with no headlights and see the road ahead, animals, etc. You have a dedicated camera in your grill and a display in the car. It’s something I’ve wanted to delve into at some point, but I don’t really have the bandwidth at the moment. The caps solo tied and tech is very different than a dashcam. It’s also different from an IR cabin cam that uses a few little dinky IR LEDs to light up people on your cabin a few feet away.

I drive A LOT on dark, forested roads at night with lots of deer and critters crossing the road in front of me.
Welcome to the club.
Have a look at this.

On my weekly drive i also cross places where you will see a sign saying risk of deer crossing for the next mile or two.
The "rule" is you are supposed to lower your speed, and so adhere to the often used in the traffic code " drive according to conditions of the road "

THB it is pretty rare i have seen deer cross the road in front of me, so in 40 years behind the wheel i think it have happened less than 10 times, and i never hit one.

I dont think you being able to see them better or for that matter get a alarm will help much, but the smarter and smarter cars will probably be able to do something ( stop ) on their own.

I ran over a rat last Sunday on my way home from my little sisters place, and i did get it just off the asphalt.

But i do prefer to shoot them.

Then it would be better to upgrade your headlamps, or refresh them if they are getting old, since they do lose brightness over time.

To send an image to an old iPhone, it needs to go over wifi, and that introduces a short delay. If a deer jumps onto the road in front of you then a 1 second delay is quite likely to mean you hit it before you see it!

Some dashcams have an AV out, which will be faster, and the Viofo A329 has HDMI out, which again should be faster.

I've never hit one either, but I have had one hit me, and no form of smart car collision avoidance or dashcam warning would have avoided the large dent in my passenger door (about two thirds of the panel). I was only doing about 10Km/h so it didn't hear me, it flew over a hedge expecting the road to be clear and then found that its brakes don't work when airborne and head butted my door.

The only solution for deer is to slow down to a speed where both you and they can react and avoid in the distance you/they can see, then there is no problem, and since that is roughly the same speed as with humans, you should be going that speed anyway, only difference is that the deer's judgement of high speeds is about as accurate as a human that is blind in one eye - the deer have their eyes on the sides of their head, not at the front.

Take notice of the deer signs, they are there for a reason, so slow down a bit where/when visibility is not so good. An extra screen to watch is not going to help, and the deer that hit me did so in daylight, so night vision would not have helped either!

I've hit several deer and other animals on many narrow, windy and dark highways and having a heads-up for animals on the side of the road would be a good thing. It looks like this is exactly what I am looking for: https://airayvision.com/products/universal-airayvis-ct-1-thermal-infrared-vehicle-assistance-system. It's starting to sink into my thick head the dash cams only function is to record to an internal hard drive (and not broadcast real-time) interactions between your vehicle and other objects. So it looks like my desire is going to cost me a bit because I want to have the dash cam and this so it looks like I need to shell out some real dough. Thanks for all the input.
