I think with both the 0806 and the 0805, its pot luck weather you get a good working one or one thats has issues
my first two 0805 had to be returned as they both were extremely out of focus, the 3rd one is great and I think it produces better results than my 0806 and is more reliable (for now)
the mount on my 0806 (and 0805) isn’t great and I think is one of it’s weaknesses. when I first got the 0806 the mount would rock up and down, when viewing the captured footage it was as if the car was rocking left to right, so I had to bodge that to stop the rocking, then the micro USB connection was very temperamental and would loose connection (power) to the 0806, so without notice the 0806 stopped working and only find out if or when the card was taken out to view
I don’t know where they get their designers from, but with in a few moments of holding the 0805 and the 0806 in my hands, I could tell just how flimsy the mount was, so surely someone from the manufacturers could of sorted the design out before it went to market,
they’ve spent time and money on things that don’t work or work badly, like twin memory card slots, G sensor,Lane Departure Warning System, Front Collision Warning System and Optional Parking Guard Mount, when they could of spent that money on better R&D
all this spec looks good on the side of the box but not much use once you get to use these DVR’s
All I and many other people want is a reliable DVR, looks like some (not all manufacturers) add half baked features just to make the spec look good. but with forums like DCT, people get to hear about the bad ones or ones with issues,
I truly believe the manufactures of these 08XX range of DVR’s have dropped the ball, as they have brought out a nice form factor DVR, now if only they'd spent their time and money making it better and more reliable they’s be selling them faster than they could make them, but instead they wast it on adding features that don’t work or work badly or aren’t needed.
Maybe they should let people who can design, (like people at Apple) design these DVR’s and for them just do what they are good at, producing/building low coast items, but well designed
OK I’ll step off my soap box now
