Mini stops recording and makes a chime noise

So today I heard my Mini make a chime noise, similar to pressing a wrong key on a Windows computer. I also noticed the LED stopped flashing, so it stopped recording. No big problem, hit OK and it was recording again. Stopped again, started again, stopped again.

Look at the SD card when I got home, and I saw that instead of the 5 minute intervals, it was recording at like a weird 23-second interval.

What could this be?

did you have motion detect off?

Yes, I don't use motion detection. And I will format the card and see what happens.

it's stopping for whatever reason, if motion detect is off there's no reason for it to stop so a write error is the first place to look, more often card related rather than the camera
