When do these arrive in online shops? UK sellers (my preference) still offer the C lens (unless out of stock).

you can have it from banggood

You've contacted JooVuu & Webbex, & they've both confirmed they don't have the C2 yet?

Last time I asked Webbex, they did not know when they'd have it. Joovuu's website was down just before I posted... UPDATE, Joovuu have the Mobius C2!

We only have the new C2 lens in stock.
spytec, I'd suggest you update your web pages then (spytecinc.com and Amazon), they still refer to the C lens. There may be customers like me, waiting for the Mobius C2 to become available.

Thanks for the advice. We will update accordingly.

The acid test for us dashcam users will be if the focus is stable when the lens warms up in a hot car. Unfortunately the Banggood link above focuses on RC airplanes where heat related focus shift is not an issue. I am still hoping that the C2 will tolerate heat better, based on Isoprop's post: "Yes, the focus shift problem should be corrected."

What are the experiences with heat related focus shift (or lack of) with the C2 lens?

Might be a daft question to ask, but can a Lens A in the Mobius be replaced by the new C2 lens because I still seem to have an issue with the focus of the lens A in the Mobius which I purchased a few months ago direct from the manufacturer's ebay shop, which despite my best efforts, still appears to be somewhat soft/less sharp when compared to the 0806 dash cam which I am also using.

...still appears to be somewhat soft/less sharp...

I recall Janke of RCGroups (very knowledgeable bloke) asserting that the default Sharpness setting in mSetup is wrong, & that more satisfactory results can be achieved with the setting adjusted to minus 80.

It may be worth experimenting with the sharpness setting to see if you can achieve results more to your taste. The real benefit is a reduction in perceived graininess. Won't cost anything but your time :)

Thanks Russ, have adjusted the sharpness setting to -80 using notepad because the last time I tried using MobiusManagerV2 it said it wasn't compatible with firmware v2.37 but I've now noticed that the app for the Mac has been updated and can be downloaded from http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2085613 will be very interesting to see if it reduces the perceived graininess.

Will take a look at the video footage it records tomorrow to see if there are any improvements, though the weather is pretty rainy and horrible at the moment as you well know so might have to wait for a brighter day for comparison purposes! - where the hell has the summer gone?

Anxiously waiting to see if it improves with this new setting.

Banggood is listing the C2 Lens Module for $31.99 US now.

The pics and talk make it appear legit if they ship what they show. Takes a smaller lenscap and the lens appears to protrude well beyond the trim ring making it vulnerable to scratching/damage. They also note this requires the correct case but do not specify the one(s) which will work- does anyone know more about that?

Seems my normal luck that I bought the C version just before the upgrade, LOL!

Phil

the C2 (not only the lens, but the whole camera) is on 2$ less, now for 70.99$

Mobius C2 photos with Sharpness of -80, 0 and +80.
(Settings: C lens, WDR on)
