The mounting bracket for my Mini 0801 appears in the upper hand portion of the picture. If I adjust it down I get too much bash, adjust it up even more of the bracket appears. I have a Nissan Xterra. Is it possible the angle of my windshield is the issue?

The Mini 0801 clicks into fixed positions. There is no easy way to get it pointed somewhere in between.
One option might be to place an angled wedge between the mount and the window. You'll need more double stick tape of course.

Oh the mounting bracket? I thought he meant rear view mirror bracket, yes what Jokiin said. Your lens might be out of whack all together.
