Hello, new member here. Looking to read dashcam reviews from real owners to help me with purchasing my dashcam.

Welcome to the forum dasheliza.

There are quite a few PPL in here that test new systems, myself being one of them. But i dont really do reviews of them.

The main thing is to not fall for one of the thousands of little brand systems, CUZ there you will get little support ASO.

Right now the latest and greatest systems use Sony starvis 2 sensors, and these come in both 1440p and 4K resolutions ( 1080p too but as a American with your little plates you should focus on the larger resolution ones )

Welcome to the club.
Brian is correct. aka @kamkar
For 2024 you want a STARVIS 2 image sensor with HDR.
STARVIS 2 without HDR is “almost” useless at night.

If cloud is your priority get a BlackVue.
If parking mode is your priority get a Thinkware.
If image quality is your priority get a Viofo.

If you have the money, start looking into dash cam battery packs for parking mode 24+ hours of operation.
If you only need parking mode for 1-3 hours you can get away using your existing vehicle starter battery.

Thank you, Brian and @Panzer Platform, for the warm welcome! The Sony Starvis 2 sensor with HDR capability seems like an excellent option these days. And Viofo is definitely on my radar for image quality.
