Power cable distorts radio signal (FM)

I forgot the width - mine seems very small at 28-29mm, but that is also what all my ex's have said!
I always thought that a cig lighter was a cig lighter - but they are many and varied.
The socket in my bus is one of the wider types so if I plug a cam cable in directly, I have to jam a lump of plastic in there as well to prevent the plug from popping out. The plug on the extension lead must be wider as it fits perfectly.

Who came up with that stupid idea?

As you said from the top I think you mean as show in post 32? If that's the case, then the Wicked Chili seems longer but not by much.
Yeah exactly, a few mm in it.

From the bottom of the lip at the top to the bottom of the plastic is ~37mm.

I recently mounted my "spare" on the rear window and lost radio reception. The sound recording also had terrible ring and static. My rear window incorporates the antenna along with the defroster. Shielded wire runs from the antenna to the radio right past everything under the dash. The provided adapter is hardwired to the console fuse box with an "add a fuse" and loose socket. I moved the camera away from the antenna area and now all is good.

An aftermarket shielded dash cam USB adapter cable should help this problem if you want to reposition the camera or encounter this problem again elsewhere.

These plug adapters are quite expensive. The cheapo ones seem to interfere.
Just wondering if a hardwired adapter such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121405433170 would do the job without interfering?
That's what I thought so in the end I bought an EasyAcc and a Veetop triple USB adapters. When I received them, I realized they were identical apart from the paint job and the box graphics. I've found them to be a lot better and I can only notice their interference when my radio's reception already poor. I think a shielded cable may help reduce that even further

They also make a very good contact with the 12V socket
