Recommend a temporary dashcam while usual one is fixed?

Hello,

I've fallen foul of what seems to be the infamous battery problem in Nextbase cameras. So, it will get sent back to get a new battery, because I only got it a few weeks ago, so is well within warranty.

And you just know something will happen while I'm not equipped!

I saw a video... somewhere, somewhen... I can't find it now... in which a tech reviewer was demonstrating a cheap but still pretty good camera he'd got for the sole purpose of fitting to a hire car while he was driving it.

So, can anyone recommend a similarly cheap and cheerful, but otherwise useful day time camera to keep me covered while waiting for the repair, and to perhaps use in future the next time I end up in a hire car or van?

It is missing a few basic things, like GPS, but it is a useful general purpose camera and will probably record better image quality than your Nextbase! Even has buffered event recording in parking mode when hardwired! Useful for hire cars and other situations where you don't want to use your main camera.
