Description & Features: MERRiL APPLE F2701 dashcam is based upon Novatek 96655.
Video Resolution: 1080P (1920 x 1080),720P (1280 x 720),848 x 480,VGA (640 x 480)
2nd camera has (720 x 480 resolution) and is supposed to be used for reverse.
Back camera video input and support automatic reversing function. [Need to read the manual]
Dual lens split screen display mode.
2.7 inch TFT big screen, clear real-time monitor and video playback
Parking monitor, car plate number display.
Built-in 500mAh li-ion battery.

Shiny... it's not big but the chrome finish means it's not for discrete install.
Mount is interesting. It's a small screw mount. It's not the standard 1/4" screw so not easy to use aftermarket ones.

From outside: It's more like mirror finish instead of chrome.

MERRiLL APPLE F2701 Folders and Files:
Normal video files: I:\CARDV\MOVIE
Triggered video files: I:\CARDV\MOVIE\RO with RA attributes.
The whole file is saved when triggered and not duplicated in normal folder.
Home button triggers file when pressed. Down button acts as mute/unmute.
File names have date time so easy to find a particular clip.



MERRiLL APPLE F2701 VBR:
Overall VBR is 13.1 mbps with video @ 11.9 mbps and audio @ 512 kbps.

Wow that's some crazy chrome bling. I'll never understand why designers in Asia think people want a DashCam to stand out and be noticed so strongly.

Daytime video is excellent so far among Novatek based dashcams.
Good focus in all areas including corners and no heat focus shift so far.
Color is natural. Audio also is loud and clear.

one doesn’t have to think long to see why they chose Apple as part of the name, and like most of these DVR’s coming out of China, not even bothering to find out its specifications, just its design tells me its not for me

Nice image but I have the feeling that the camera has a reading problem. Watching the video I have the feeling your car is continously swinging up and down. Both in day and night videos ... made me get dizzy ...
