@Sunny What do you think ? My Mini 0807 OOF or ?

Yes, it's not as sharp as it can be but not too bad.
It's slightly out of focus, not as bad as mine.
Here's a screenshot from your video:

Compared to mine after fixing focus: Notice the sharp trees...

Notice how sharp the trees, leaves are in comparison against above.

Definitely worth fixing the focus if you have doubt.

Seems from my mails with skyhigh-global, the final version of 0807 might take a few months still, they are implementing a hardware based temperature guard, sorting the OOF issues and also increasing firmware or maybe changing sensor also.
Meanwhile Xiaomi Yi dash cam China is on offer for $41 on gearbest and have bought that for interim use. Is that a sensible decision, mainly require good video quality.

Def better video but iffy. Specially heat rendered focus issues. Still am taking a gamble here and prepared to lose money on this or maybe convert it to use as wifi based cctv if all else fails.

Thanks for the fast reply. Appreciate it.

I am amazed at how dedicated u guys are here on DCT [emoji106]

So do the fixed focus stick, or do it go out of wack again as soon as the car get a little sun/heat while parked.

It's been working great except it shifts focus when hot like parking under the sun but still better than original OOF videos.

No problem.
Yes heat issues will be there unless hardware is changed.
Mini series is right next to windshield so gets hot quickly.
BTW, mini 0807 doesn't have Wi-Fi.

I loaded the new 20160623 V1.0 firmware.

I was talking about what I can do with the xiaomi yi, which I bought as a stop gap cam till mini 0807 is perfected, if there still is heat related OOF effect with xiaomi yi even in the new batches [emoji3]

Very impressed with the new FW. The video quality made a large leap in improvement. Hope these developments continue.

My only concern is the heat driven OOF. Is there any hack we can do to solve this issue?? Heat-sink or thermal transfer??

@Olgu
The new firmware only gives around 15 mbps, not 20 mbps video bit rate for me.

Mini 0807 High VBR FW.jpg

Maybe different lighting conditions and scenes add more bitrate.
I'll test in daylight soon.

I can mod the firmware to 20k or 24k, if any of you want to try ?
But any problem, maybe brick the cam, I won't take responsibility .
