I have the N5S but haven't yet tested. Doing Testing on other cameras before I initiate testing on that one.
 
I just posted to measurements of the behavior of the VP03 (II) and VP05 (II) hardwire kits to my thread on the N5S camera. The power efficiencies are pretty good and the user-selectable voltage shut-down levels are EXTREMELY precise.

I also made some measurements of the Vantrue hardwire kits to look at both the accuracy of their battery protection voltage settings and their overall power draw while in drive mode and in parking mode. I tend to think that power draw while in drive mode (with both Red and Yellow wires receiving 12v from the car's electrical system) is mostly irrelevant because the engine is running, so the car's electrical system is energized and charging. Power draw in parking mode (only the Red wire is receiving 12v from the car's electrical system) is much more relevant, since you are drawing battery...

I remade some images last night, here are three captures along the same street as I was moving. This is the entire frame as captured by the N5S camera along with a few inserts of plate captures and zooms. The overall scene capture is quite good, it is easy to see areas on both sides of the car for quite some distance down the road. Given the time of night, the sky was indeed black (cloudy day beforehand). The camera that each zoom came from is labeled in the image. In all cases, I selected the single best frame from the video stream for comparison. This is a pretty challenging setting...

Here are some additional daytime and nighttime image comparisons of the N4PS, the S1 Pro Max with the newly updated firmware that increases the video bitrate, and my A139 Pro camera. It seems that the N4PS still renders the sharpest image of the three.

To say that I was excited to hear about the latest firmware update for the S1 Pro Max would be a large understatement! I've always thought this was a nice camera for a variety of reasons (form factor, swivel lens for aiming, the 4k rear camera, and decent image quality out of the front 4k camera), but I found the relatively high rate of video compression to have a detrimental impact on image quality from the forward facing camera when compared to other 4k cameras. Yes, absolutely! The magnetic mount that attaches to the front on the camera itself is identical between these two units. The mount itself is intended for the "Nexus" series of cameras. It works for the N4, the N4S, and the N5S cameras.

I am currently using N4S and have seen someone selling N4pro consoles without brackets on a second-hand platform. I am not sure if it is necessary to buy them。
