Reviewing and Testing the Vanture T800 Compressed Air Duster

Given our nice warm weather yesterday and today (first day above 50F since last year), it was time to wash the cars. The T800 is AWESOME for blowing off the heavy water after a wash, which makes drying the car a breeze (sorry, couldn't resist the pun😉 ). On its highest setting, the T800's battery is plenty sufficient to thoroughly clear the water from a car before the battery runs down. After a few minutes of running the T800 on its highest power setting, the battery pack in the handle was clearly warming up. It wasn’t what I’d call hot, but it was noticeably above body temperature.

With time in between jobs to allow the battery to cool down and be recharged (it also charges well with a Dell USB-C laptop charger), the T800 has sufficient battery power to pretty thoroughly dry my mid-size sedan and our mid-size SUV. Both vehicles have a ceramic coating installed, so the water beads just rolled right off! The blower worked great on the large body panels, but where it was really most useful was on the wheels (especially around the lug nuts that always seem to hold lots of water), tire sidewalls, and on the front grille that has just about one million nooks and crannies that hold a ton of water.

The T800 made the job of drying the cars much easier and I didn't have to stop to wring out my towel part way through the job this time around! I suppose I should have made a video of how well the T800 worked, guess I'll have to do that next time around.

On amazon in the US, it's presently available for $83 with a 27% discount for a total of $62.
It's currently £39 ($52) on Amazon UK.

I wonder if it could clear the lint trapped inside my tumble dryer's heat exchanger? Our Dyson can't suck it out.

@TonyM Ends in 6 hours! Should I, should I?

The Amazon 'sale' repeats every few weeks, so there's no pressure!

I’m thinking this would require something to physically break up the trapped lint as a first stage, then the blower as a second stage to clear the debris.

The price went down 2 GBP after the sale ended.

Ha - I’ve seen that pricing trend on Amazon rather frequently… ramp up the pressure to buy, then drop the price afterward.

I just saw a ChrisFix video and the T800 on Amazon now has accessories. Just like you expected.
Where can I find the accessories for the T800?

Has anyone tried the Vantrue TS2 thermal camera? It's shown on the Amazon spring deals page, but there's no link to purchase, at least here in the UK:

I thought this would be perfect to get the dust out of my PC.

It might be just a little teeny weeny bit OTT for that!

Paul.

That looks like an interesting phone/tablet attachment! The link for purchase is active in the US, and it’s way less expensive than a Flir camera. Curious that it wears a “Vantrue Power” badge - I suppose because it isn’t a dashcam? If you need any people to provide some feedback, @Jeff_Vantrue, I’d be happy to help!

They should be included if you order it from Amazon.
Back then when I got mine, there was only one attachment included.

Of course, a day or two after I wash the car, it rains. So, I thought this would be a good opportunity to make a quick video (or two) to show how effectively the T800 removes water from my car. All of our cars have a ceramic coating, so the water really just flies right off! The videos are only a few seconds long, but you get a good idea of how well the T800 works. Instead of saturating an entire towel to dry the car and having to stop and wring out the water, now I can get by with just a small towel to completely dry the car and move on to applying some Bead Maker (ceramic spray coating).

Ha - I have TWO of them now! I got one for my daughter while she is away at school to blow the leaves from the bottom of her windshield where the wipers are and I thought it worked really well. Then she took it back to school with her, so I needed my own for the cars. Now that she's finished her Masters Degree and came back home, there are two of them floating around the house. It's one of those tools that once you start playing with it, you just keep coming up with ideas of where and how to use it! It's great for blowing the dust out of the fans on my desktop computer, cleaning out the computer keyboard, and for drying the cars after a wash!

I just sent your videos to my son and told him one copy was already on the way.
Do you know what his reaction was?

Why only one? 🤣

I'm afraid I won't have time to play...
They'll take it away.
