There are ALWAYS user serviceable parts inside!
After seeing the thread started by @Julian23, I purchased a Vantrue T800 Compressed Air Duster for my daughter. While she's away at school, she parks her car under a set of trees that drop lots of leaves in the fall. She gets annoyed that the leaves collect at on her windshield and get tangled up in the wiper arms, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to play with another product from @Jeff_Vantrue and the team at Vantrue. As an added bonus, it just so happened that Amazon was offering it at a 30% discount, so I was able to pick it up for about $70 and free shipping.

My other Vantrue dashcam reviews can be found here: E360, E1 Pro, N4S, S1 Pro Max, N4 Pro S, N5S
Vantrue Power (non-dashcam) Product Reviews: T800 Compressed Air Duster, TS2 Thermal Camera for iOS/Android

For those of you who are familiar with my dashcam reviews, here are my usual set of images of the the air duster. The outer packaging is sturdy and robust as I expected given my experience with Vantrue Dashcams.

Inside the box is the usual formed foam rubber insert that gently cradles the Air Duster. You can also see part of the textured grip pattern on the handle.

The little white plastic envelope contains a 20" long USB-A to USB-C charging cable. The claimed time for a full charge is 2hrs from a high-current quick charge USB-C plug. If you are using a more typical 5w or 10w USB-A port, expect it take a good deal longer.

The user manual contains six sections: one for each of English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Polish.

And here is an image for size reference. It almost looks like a hotel-sized hair dryer - but I've never used one with a breeze like this!! 😯😉

Here are some closeup images the device itself. It's pretty small overall, measuring 9.5" (24cm) tall and 5.5" (13.5cm) wide at the top. It fits easily in your hand and is well-balanced so it will stand upright on the end of the handle. It is fairly lightweight at just over 1.6 lbs (~725 grams).

This is the air intake end of the Air Duster. Given the velocity that comes out the other end, do be careful to keep long hair and loose clothing out of the way!

The teal blue switch on the back of the handle below in the air intake has four positions as it slides left to right: Off (0), Low (I), Med (II), and High (III) speed for the fan.

Here is the USB-C charging port and indicator LEDs on the back of the bottom of the handle. The LEDs indicate the state of charge for the batteries as you would expect. The front and rear grips have nice textured pattern, as do the sides of the handle (shown above) providing some extra grip in the event your hands are a bit wet. The handle itself, as well as the entire casing, is rigid plastic that is quite sturdy.

This is the business end of the Air Duster. The funnel-shaped cone attachment on the front is what accomplishes the "compression" by funneling the air through a smaller aperture.

This plastic cone detaches easily with a quick counter-clockwise turn, so I'm guessing there is (or will be) an accessory pack at some point that features other attachments.

For the "Low" and "Medium" speed settings (on the back of the handle), you only need to touch and release the on/off toggle switch (on the front of the handle) to turn the Air Duster on and off again - you don't need to hold the power switch.

For the "High" speed setting, the switches behave a little differently: You need to HOLD the power button down in order for the Air Duster to operate. Once you let go of the button, it turns off again. This makes sense given the much larger power draw of the highest speed setting. When you engage the highest speed, you definitely feel the compressor pushing backward in your hand - it REALLY creates a strong breeze! The force really took me by surprise!

Here are the battery specs for the Air Duster on the bottom of the handle:

Now I have to see if I can find something to demonstrate the wind force that comes out of this little wonder. Unlike my dashcams, I don't have anything to compare this Compressed Air Duster to, but it's truly impressive! Since it's only August, I don't have a ready-made pile of leaves laying around to show how it works. I'll have to see if I can hunt down some debris around the yard and make a few videos...

Here are some videos of how it works. Since it is mid- to late-August, there isn't much in the way of leaves and debris laying around the yard yet, but this little sucker really creates quite an impressive breeze for it's diminutive size! When I read something about cleaning up leaves in the yard on the Vantrue website, I have to say I was a bit skeptical. After turning it on, however, my mind was immediately changed! Wow!!

Each of these three videos was made with the Compressed Air Duster on its highest speed. I was standing normally, not hunched over, just aiming the duster at the ground. I suppose it will be more impressive looking in the fall when there are leaves piling up, but I was really surprised at how effective it was compared to using a broom and sweeping!

Sadly i need pressure ( 300 BAR ) not volume.
So my " blower " is a big bigger in any way, and more expensive.

I don't own an actual leaf blower (can't stand the damned things- too much noise), so I can't make any actual comparisons. I suspect it won't perform as well as a 3-foot leaf blower with a removable 48v battery pack or a back-pack style gas powered blower. But this one fits esaily in the glove box. For its intended purpose of cleaning leaves off of a car and being small enough to be easily portable and tucks away when not needed, it fits the bill quite nicely!

I use it to blow away some light leaves in my garage and it works just fine (have a similar Wolfbox product). I did drop mine on tiles and while the main unit itself escaped without a scratch, the connector didn't so won't stay on anymore. Just ended up using another attachment instead.

Hope Vantrue and other companies start selling or including spares of the connector attachments

Nice post and videos Eric!
It definitely looks like it has some power.

Amazon is running a sale until Oct 23 for 30% off. I’m thinking I’m going to pick up a second one for myself (my daughter took the first one back to school), it will be useful for drying the car after washes.

@Jeff_Vantrue, now that the T800 has launched, is there a plan for small, high-powered, hand-held car vacuum? That would be pretty nice!

Just running through the logic in my head: it seems that this could potentially be accomplished with switch position that reverses the DC voltage to the motor (changing the airflow direction) and then adding an attachment that has a canister and a filter. It's likely a bit more complicated than I'm thinking, though...

Thanks a lot for your suggestion! At the moment, we don’t have any new product plans in the car vacuum category, but we really appreciate your idea and will share it with our product team.

I just saw a ChrisFix video and the T800 on Amazon now has accessories. Just like you expected.

They also released a smaller version, the T150 that has the same kind of accessories.

I guess I am spoiled by the enormous air velocity that comes out of the T800, but I recently picked up a battery powered car vacuum that “works” well enough, but the suction power and breeze out of the other end just seems completely unimpressive by comparison.

Blow the dirt out! I need to get me one of those T800's

It is awesome for cleaning my desktop computer case. I used to disconnect everything so I could carry it out to the garage and use my air compressor to blow the dust out (major hassle). Now I just use the T800 and blow it into the far ports on the case. Works great! It will also come in handy for the start of car washing season as we head into spring. 😎

Anyone got an Aliexpress link for it? I couldn't find it there.
