Buy a HDMI cable and open it up. Inside you will find EMI shielding foil. One side is metallic and conductive. The other side is colored and does not conduct.

Wrap this foil around your battery and fold a small peice to make contact with the ground terminal on your battery when you place it inside the dvr. This will then go to your car's ground when it is plugged into a 12V car charging port.

Worked for me. No GPS problems anymore. Good Luck!

it's not the battery, but the complete electronic boards. Better cameras have conductive paint inside the case or -better- shielding layers inside the PCB.
But the trick with the glued foil in the cases works remarkably well against gps- and fm radio interference.

Similar thing worked for me as well. However, I changed the battery with a nokia one and no interference after that.
