A relative of mine in Italy does a bit of Rallying and has started doing drifting sessions, so I thought it would be a good idea to fix in my SJ4000’s in the car as it went round the track and also at one time had one fitted to the side of the car capturing the top ad front of the car as it went round the track, the beginning bit was just warming up the tyres, I don’t know who the couple were and it was only once I looked at the captured footage I noticed they didn’t bother to have their seat belts on and the girls head gear looked 2 sizes too big

I again I was pleased with the results the SJ captured, it was a very bright day with full on sun, what one has to remember that 2 nd a half years ago I got hold of a Blackvue DR500GW for just under/over £300 once duty and VAT was added to my cost, and compared to what this SJ4000 produces, that blacvue was like comparing a 640 VGA image, so one could say “SJCAM, POWER without the PRICE”

my only niggle so far is that it was at this circuit whilst getting the 2 SJ cameras fitted to the car ready to capture the drifting, that I found out that on both SJ’s I could not connect by wi fi, the iPhone could see both wi fi’s o selecting wi fi network, just no hand shake between the two, and I haven’t been able to since, hopefully once I upgrade the firmware I might progress on the wi fi front, but its not affecting the image quality

coments, good or bad most welcome

Awesome video! is he a professional racer? Maybe you can try a SJ4000+ 2k as it has Gyro Anti-shake. It would be cool to see a comparison.

Keep up the great videos @ MollyDog!

thank you for your kind words,, the driver above was just a paying customer who took his girlfriend as a passenger;

the reason for pushing the car at the end was if I’m not mistaken, was that one of the back tyres had a blow out and not to destroy the rims or get the bits of the tyre damaging the bodywork

this driver here (below) who is my relative and who is/was a rally driver (part time) who with a friend set up this drifting school

the sound on the captured footage is in full sync with the movie clip but once I uploaded it to youtube it went slightly out of sync for some reason

I might give that a go doing a side by side with the 4000+ but it will have to be next year when I return (for my holidays)

I am truly pleased with the image capturing of these little cameras. when you see the lighting conditions they were operating in, very bright snd direct sunlight outside the car,

I sorted out the wi fi issue I had, I thought I’d upgrade the IOS to the latest version (9.0.2) on my iPhone. once I did that, the wi fi on both SJ4000wi fi is/are back to normal, everything works as before, so might have been something to do with the IOS on my iPhone

kind of reminds me of the very late 70's..

I had an mk1 1100 escort, and swapped out the engine for a 1600 on twin choke webbers ...

The net result was the original engine mounts left the engine bashing around bay until upgraded and the sump had to be wellied and reshaped to give clearance !, the max revs on the 1600 was 500 below the original engine which left me with a max speed of 80mph equating to 20mph ,40, 60 80 in first 2nd 3rd and fourth.

It could drift on dry roads but I genuinely looked forward to damp dull rainy days where you could drift yourself silly and I had more fun than the "biker" I had been !!!

I would love another mk1 escort, and still think you would be hard pushed to have more fun in a modern car as it "performs" at such low speeds ...

I loved the mk1 escorts, and wished I had the money to get one, but never did (lack of money) I never did like the mk2’s then in 1975/6 my dad gave me £1200 to get a 2 year old (1974 M reg) Ford Capri, the uplifted mk1. I kept it till about 1983/4 loved the car, it was only a 1600 XL, if it wasn’t for the rustkilling it , I’d still be having it now

I think part of the rust problem was the colder winters and salt they used to throw at the roads daily...

I got to drive a mk1 automatic capri and lifting the bonnet always had me laughing as you could put four chairs in there and a piece of wood on the engine for a table there was so much space around the engine !!!

All fords were a doddle to fix back then and I lost count of the times my engines were dangling off a set of pull lifts hooked on the cherry tree in the front garden !
