So you look forward to 4K dashcams

So, how do they fit a 1/1.33" sensor and a 100MP lens into a thin camera body?

Yes must take some kind of lens magic to pull all that off in a body thats normally under 10 mm thick.
Jut the 48mpix lens in my phone freak me out, though it do also protrude a few mm, so on a table its a wobbly phone.

The pixel binning ASO sound interesting, i am looking forward to see what kind of low light performance this can give, my 48 mpix phone camera binned 4 to 1 and so 12 mpix do alright low light photos.

And i think this binning are where even dashcam sensors will end up as i think the big pixel sensors will be EOL one day soon.

9 into 1 pixel on such a sensor will give you a pretty big pixel to capture light.
