SZDome DAB201 vs StreetGuardian sg9665gc

I'm looking for better night vision cam. SZDome DAB201 / DAB202 / DAB205 mounts the new Ambarella A12A55, a further evolution of Ambarella A7. StreetGuardian sg9665gc is the best dashcam for night view today.

The question is: SZDome DAB201 is better then StreetGuardian sg9665gc for night view?

DAB202/205 are not yet in the market

And the price is really low, 134,90 € in France.

Sunny and I are testing a DAB201. I have not had a chance to take mine out at night yet, but Sunny has some dawn like footage you can see more here.

Also keep in mind the SG uses the Sony CMOS while these use OV4689

2M Sony Sensor is more suited to low light, pixels are bigger and capture more light for 1080P.

The only way to know is to put them into side by side extensive test in extreme night scenes.

Also need to think of many other things that might be important to you:

• form factor / size: are you afraid to leave your dashcam in car and get stolen ? ( bigger form factor dashcams may attract thieves ).
• battery or capacitor based: with battery based dsahcam there is a risk of Lipo battery may get swollen or even "exploded" in hot summer day if left in the parked car, or may just fail "die" over some period and in vital moment when need to save last file - it may fail.
• customer support: how good is before, during and aftersales support ?
• warranty policy: is it 1 or 2 year ? In EU it has to be 2 year by law if bought from reputable legit seller. Also if product is under warranty, will it be sent for repair or instant replacement. If sent for repair, then it may take few month to repair it. Not many sellers offer instant replacement.

So there are many things to consider
