Too many to list here (psst, Viofo, Chupad, Xiaomi, Mini )
No list but a good idea but these days and including fixed drone cams it would be a big list. Go for it LOL

As long as resolution 3840*2160 and has a verified processor, sensor and EIS chip, plus video not interpolated then they are not fake 4K cams.
That's the problem I think it is interpolated cos that chip is from 2013 or something quite old.

They started in 2015 from there info which would limit the technology around the NT96650 and Amba A7 so maybe? They mention constantly upgrading so surely they would be up to 2017 Chips and sensors. Originally 32Gb was upgraded to 64Gb internal memory etc. Hard to find any info though. Around US$280 to US$359 I think was for Kickstarter investors only?

Yi 4k+ (and maybe Yi 4k regular)
SJ8 Pro
Firefly 8SE
...and similar high-end Chinese branded cameras
Cannot wait for novatek to release a chip that can support native 4k...

They have, it can be found in the middle SJ8 model, and should appear in some dashcams soon.

Too many ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the sport camera market has been in rapid decline for the last year or two, the market is pretty much saturated and there's only so many potential sales out there, not enough to go round for all the brands in the market that's for sure

SJCam SJ8 Plus uses a Novatek chipset and does true 4K resolution with EIS and H.265 ecoding which is really nice. The gyro puts to shame most ambarella H22 based cameras

Honestly I can't get over how extremely valuable this forum is. I've learned SO much. I'm looking to pull the trigger on an action cam. Ideally I would like 4K video with image stabilization. The primary purpose for the purchase will be a trip I'm taking to Hawaii and I would like to use it while on a doors off helicopter ride, so we'll be in motion and waterfalls will be in motion, so I suspect image stabilization will be important. Here's the deal... I'm not flush with money and really can't afford top of the line, and also I'm not a professional or even a hardcore enthusiast but I also don't want garbage. I've seen a few that look interesting to me, the SJ8 Plus/Pro (sadly pro doesn't come with waterproof case included and I will be doing some snorkeling with this device so it's additional cost to buy the case). Another that seems really interesting is the MGCool Explorer 3, but I'm not sure of the verdict on that chipset iCatch V50 with Panasonic MN34112 sensor. I like the looks of the Elephone Explorer K, but can't find anywhere it's actually for sale.

Wondering if anyone has some thoughts or recommendations. My budget is ibetween $100-$200.

I should say as well, that if there is just a killer action camera that doesn't do 4K but does wonderful 1080p, I can live with that. Quality of the picture is most important and I don't want to hang that on just the resolution.

Thanks!
