I'll upload my Thinkware F800 Pro dashcam videos here :)

These Files were straight up drag-and-drop into YouTube.
I'm not sure if YouTube does any weird rendering behind the scenes.

Part 1:
Hawthorne Bridge (Front Camera) - 1

Part 2:
Hawthorne Bridge (Front Camera):

Hawthorne Bridge (Rear Camera):

RAW Files from Thinkware Folder for Videos Above:

Other RAW recordings can be found in this folder:

could you upload some original raw files to a file host, not really fair to judge them after what YouTube does to the files

Hmm. I did something wrong trying to compile all of the 1 Minute Segments into 1 large clip with my Sony Vegas Pro 14 software. If anyone here have suggestions on how I can compile my own videos without compromising the original video quality please let me know. Also, can someone confirm if YouTube does weird things to the original files when uploading in the 1080p method?

I went ahead and deleted those video compilations that I made with Sony Vegas Pro until I can figure out how to properly render video files.

Back on topic to the RAW files of my drive on the Hawthorne Bridge. It seems like the Thinkware F800 Pro have issues capturing the license plates from the cars to the right of me on that bridge. Is this a common issue?

I was suspecting it might be something wrong with my Micro SD Card so I did a bench test on it and got really bad results.

The MicroSD card that came with my F800Pro from BlackBoxMyCar was this:
"Samsung 128GB 100MB/s (U3) MicroSD EVO Select Memory Card"
https://www.amazon.com/gp/B06XWZWYVP
The MicroSD card was plugged into the Thinkware USB adapter and plugged into one of my USB 3.0 Ports when I ran the Benchtest. I'm guessing the chip might be defective... Would these slow speeds cause the bad video recordings from the F800 pro?

This was attempt #2 of trying to compile a video file with Sony Vegas Pro 14 but the video seems to be a bit pixelated in some parts...

Those who are experienced with video editing... can someone check my settings in the screenshot below to see if I made any errors?

Thanks.

The card will be fast enough, if there's no stuttering or dropped frames there's no reason to suspect card issues, the bitrate is not that high that it would be an issue either

I'm not too familiar with Sony as we use Premiere Pro but YouTube does drop the bitrate to ~8 Mbps
It shouldn't have anything to do with your SD card since you are saying the uploaded version looks worse than the raw from what I gather?

Hmm. I'll have to give Adobe Premiere Pro a try. Yeah, I re-watched one of my compiled videos that I made with Vegas Pro 14 and the RAW Thinkware files were definitely better quality.

I was reading a lot of 1 star reviews for the Samsung Micro SD card that game with my purchase and it seems like the advertised write and read speeds from Samsung were lies or I received a bad batch. I'm leaning more towards Samsung's false advertising.

I went ahead and ordered the same micro sd card to see if I get different results from benchtesting.

Was re-watching some old footage and I noticed the camera both rear and front have trouble picking up license plate numbers from cars not directly behind or in front of the camera.

Raw Footage folder here:

I got lost in a weird alley way and the roads were super tiny.

I've uploaded some videos of my drive in low lighting (mountain roads) and also neighborhood driving. Getting a lot of glare from them street lights.
Camera Brightness settings set to Medium on rear and front. Rear window is 35% window tint.

These are the render settings I use in Vegas Pro 14. (In PAL land)

Other than rendering for a Blu-Ray disc, I think these give the best quality for playing back on a PC.

Did a quick bass video test to see how the dashcam handle windshield flex. I forgot to turn off incident report so my videos were a bit short :(
The distortion is from the dashcam not being able to pick up the loud bass (nothing can pick up all the noise at this volume lol).

Not a lot of windshield vibration so I'm happy.

To put everything into perspective this is how much bass it's getting:

The Dashcam market should create some stuff that can resist against extreme bass like these guys:

This sort of bass is more realistic for an average car audio guy though:

Thinkware F800 Pro is under warranty for extreme bass right?

how much of that flex is because the car is almost 20 years old? :P

i myself drove a 98 camry (CE V6 5spd) for quite a while so i instantly recognized those tail lights as belonging to a 97-99 camry. mine was also beige. and when i first bought it from a friend, it had a little "assisted breathing apparatus" attached to the motor. 8psi = sleeper. :D

That 1st clip is so common, people can't turn into their own lanes.
