Based on transferring files between the camera and the smartphone via a type-c to type-c data cable, you can also update the firmware through your phone in this simple way.
We have uploaded a video showing how to update the firmware through the iPhone you can refer to:
If you are interested in the process of how to perform firmware update on your Android phones, you can also download the video from this link:

All our models with type-c ports.
When can you start including a USB Type-C to Type-C Data Cable instead of the current USB Type-A to Type-C with every camera?
Hopefully with the “factory installed” CPL Filter VS1’s?
And can you send me a “Viofo Brand” USB Type-C to Type-C Data Cable for testing?

Good afternoon. Will Viofo VS1 record video if it is connected via USB cable to an android phone? Will the GoodSync/DriveSync/FolderSync app be able to automatically upload disturbing video files from the DVR card to the cloud via the phone? With respect

The camera will behave as a drive when you connect it to your phone, so it will stop recording at that time. The video files will not be uploaded to the cloud automatically after you connect the camera to your phone unless you have downloaded them to your phone and moved them to the specific contents.

I don't know who, where and what is said, but I can update the A229 Pro this way, but the A329 doesn't even turn on.
Smartphone: Samsung S21 5G. Android: 14.
Hmmm your phone should be able to do it as it has usb 3.2 otg etc. Maybe Viofo removed the ability for the A329, who knows why..

The problem may be in the cable. For the A229 Pro, a USB2.0 data cable is enough, but for the A329, a USB 3.0 data cable is needed.
OTG support would be more a precursor for that I would think. Who knows until someone tests it right.

The problem is in the cable, smartphone and A329.
I tried with a 1.8m Viofo cable designed for connecting SSD. A329 did not turn on.
Then I took a USB-C to USB-A 3.0 cable plus an A - C 3.0 adapter and A329 turned on.
BUT the adapter must be connected to A329, if vice versa, then A329 will not turn on.
There are no such problems on A229 Pro.

You basically just showed that it needs an OTG adapter for A329 haha, which A229 Pro did not. Of course the 1.8m cable did not work because it wasn't plugged in via OTG adapter.

Where in the description of A329 is it indicated that the OTG adapter must be used?
All the pictures show a USB cable type-C on both ends.
Well that's an error on their part isn't it. I never said that Viofo said that an OTG adapter must be used.
