Good Blog article, helpful and informative....
You couldn't possibly get a job at Ubiquiti/UniFi could you....?! 🤣

@VIOFO-Support @viofo
I see some suggestions and recommendations have been added.

While I haven't been able to test the A329s yet, I think I and other users would prefer to have voltage information displayed on the camera's LCD screen, either on the bottom line or the top line (selectable, or the top line preferred, as it's usually behind the mirror), rather than in the video. I requested this years ago.

Also, adding voltage information while watching live video through the app would be more useful.

This would be more convenient and practical.

Is the issue of losing settings after a complete power outage addressed in this version of the software? I know there is an intermediate software version that was shared on this forum, but my question is whether this fix is included in the latest version, V.20?
@VIOFO-Support could you confirm?

Yes, it is included.

Voltage info is not necessary to show on the screen.
It is good to check the voltage value while the camera is entering the parking mode or powering off.

Also another way is using the APP to check the voltage value even when the camera and car are turned off.

I agree there’s no real need to have the voltage display on recorded video…the fact you have recorded video to watch indicates the camera was working all OK..!
I would also argue there’s no real need to have it on the camera display either – from a drivers seat position the display isn’t typically that accessible anyway, and obviously certainly not whilst driving….But I can see a usefulness for an initial check before driving or after etc….
Personally, I would just limit the info to the App….But of course, there’s always going to be numerous opinions and requests…How many setting options do you cater for..?!

You're wrong.

Also, I'm giving you my opinion on something, making a request, and you say it's unnecessary.

Wrong.

How much strain does displaying voltage information on the camera screen put on the processor? Or how much power does it waste?

I say I need it. You say it's not necessary. What kind of listening to users is that? Wrong.

You need to do this now. You need to convey this to the engineer and work to make it usable.

Otherwise, it's not very nice to just take ideas here as they are and use them later under the guise of a blog.

Think about this carefully and do justice to this title.

Some hybrid vehicle users need this because many users, due to infrequent use of their vehicles, have encountered battery and alternator problems, leading to significant costs. This is not covered by the warranty, due to the extra energy consumed by the use of the dashcam.

Nice update!
I hope the Parking Impact Notification will be available for all future and current cameras.
It's a feature that many people wanted to a long time.

Regarding the new Export Settings Function, does it only export the settings to view them or will it also read the settings once it boots up? Would be nice if I see something I want to change while watching the files.
You also mentioned a configuration tool. Did you mean notepad or is this to be released?

I did a small test of the geofencing feature and I have some thoughts.

First of all my circle radius was set at 50m and I couldn't change it, is it possible to make it adjustable ? I think I could make it work in my case if the circle radius was 15m (because of my house camera coverage).

Ok so I have set a new zone with 50m radius at home, drove away came back, parked and it worked. Parking recording didn't not start. Great.

But as I was about to step out of the car a better parking spot next to me became available so I quickly moved my car. Unfortunately this time the parking recording did turn on. Even though I was inside the circle radius of the zone. (actually moved closer to the middle of the zone). So the A329S was off, I turned the ignition on and moved the car, turned off the ignition, all in all maybe 20 seconds or less. I hope it's fixable.

Which version of the app do I need to do this?

I have Android V3.2.21 and do not see this option

EDIT: After reading the blog I see that I need the VIOFO Beta app

Did your A329S acquire an accurate GPS position in that short 20 second drive?

Voltage information aids malfunction diagnosis.
1.) Driving mode recording malfunctions
2.) Parking mode recording malfunctions.

Number #1 cause of recording malfunctions is “bad” SD Card.
Number #2 cause of recording malfunctions is unstable power source / power starvation.

Am I wrong? @VIOFO-Support

Thank you for this update! Lots of cool stuff in here like the parking mode geofencing and the SSD support in low power parking mode. I'm especially happy to see the low power parking modes show up even when the engine is off as well as the critical alerts voice notifications.

With the export feature, if we change the settings on a computer and put the card back in the dashcam, will it read our updated settings? Also if so, would there be issues with people backing up their settings, upgrading, and then restoring an old .ini file? I understand new firmwares may add or change features and so it could potentially create conflicts, but just a thought to help avoid having to redo all the settings every time we update.

I don't think so.
You have to enable the settings export in menu.
There is no import setting.

@VIOFO-Support I know in a previous thread you said making the boot faster will take some development time. It doesn't look like 2.0 beta has this listed. Do you have an estimate when that will be?

The booting time will be optimized in V2.1 or later version, this requires lots of changes in SDK.

So far i have installed the new firmware on both dashcams. The A329T and switched from A329S to A329TC.

@VIOFO-Support
Following funtions would be great additions for the A329TC firmware:
  1. Possibility to switch aspect to 21:9 front 16:9 telephoto 16:9 interior like the A329T firmware
  2. Possibility to disable the telephoto during parking mode (only the interior cam has this function with the 2.0 beta A329TC firmware).

It seems the ios viofo beta app is missing all the new 2.0 settings.
