V2.0 Firmware for Public Testing

No. Is external ssd. ran out of space to add that i think in the profile. (will edit it)

But i , do have 512GB micro sd card installed as backup/fallback storage. Boot time is pretty much the same though with no ssd....too long.

Edit. There. Edited profile to be more accurate. Sorry for the confusion.
Am curious if boot times are shorter with internal sd card vs external ssd.
When i first setup the cam, i noticed no difference, but did not measure it.
Either way, i think other cams have managed to be up and recording much faster, even 3 channel models.
I recall Viofo posting that V2.1 firmware was supposed to be a new SDK or something, that would improve boot times.
It was mentioned in v2.1 that would be addressed. But since we haven't heard anything back in this thread I also don't have high hopes that this will be improved, if at all. Between my A229 pro's going out of focus and this issue I'll have to think hard about what to get next dashcam replacement cycle.

Even if your A229 Pro's are out of warranty I would still SUBMIT A TICKET for a warranty claim.
Depending on circumstance VIOFO has replaced out of warranty units.
You don't get what you don't ask for.
The worst they can say is no.

NO. LOL

새로운 펌웨어는 없나요?

Is there no new firmware?

Good day,

I am on 260104 and 329S is loosing multiplex, mic and led settings. @VIOFO-Support: is there anything I can do or just wait for the next firmware version? Or there will be no new firmware and I should revert back to older? Or perhaps it’s only problem with my very device?

Thank you

You may want to SUBMIT A TICKET directly to VIOFO.

Same here, any solution for this?

I just updated the firmware for my A329T. I haven't had much time to check out the new features (the distortion adjustment looks interesting!), though it does seem that start up time has been reduced. My A329T now starts up at the same time as my A139 Pro. It's funny to hear when they hit at the same time now 😉. It's hard for me to make an absolute measurement of start up time right now because it is powered by my DIY parking battery, which has a built-in 5-8 second start up delay to allow the car's electrical system to settle in a bit before it starts drawing charging current.

I didn't measure yet myself, but I also feel my A329TC is now booting up slightly faster than on the previous firmware.

The official release notes for this firmware version do not mention any reduction in the camera's boot-up time.
Could a @VIOFO-Support representative please publish the complete changelog for this release? A detailed list of all modifications would eliminate unnecessary speculation and allow users to verify what has actually changed.

Neither did the last firmware update change Log but bootup time was reduced 3.26 Seconds.

Trust me, I'm thankful we got the change log we did 🤣

I noticed this last time around as well, but someone dumped on me because it wasn’t in the official change log that accompanied the update. My measure is clearly non-scientific: how far away from the house do I get before I hear, “Three channels recording!” It noticeable changed last time, by one cross road and it changed again this time, too. Now the boot time is equal to my A139 Pro because they both announce at the same time 😁

Although I am happy with my system and the 01/2026 FW, I am also looking forward
to this new update. I'm waiting for the OTA offering which Viofo says is coming out
very soon.

The last update I attempted with just the SD card was an exercise in frustration, and
I have no doubt the issue was me and me alone, but I did this kind of thing for a living
for over 40 years. I'm retired now so I guess I have the dumb. I can wait!

Just a quick question, will there be in the future an option to backup the settings before an update? Or even better, the update won’t reset all settings?

That feature exists now. Looks like settings are stored on the SD card each time it powers down, which is super nice. 🙂 Even following their instructions to format the card (using the camera), then put the new firmware on the card for the update retains the settings (provided there isn't significant change that necessitates ignoring the previous settings). I think this was added with the Jan 2026 update.

I had to reset all my settings after this FW update. It's particularly annoying to have to reset my geofence locations because I have to remember to set them again the next time I go there.

Maybe I didn't do something to save my settings in advance?
