Vantrue E1 Pro / 4K / Novatek NT98528 + SONY STARVIS 2 IMX678 / HDR / Wi-Fi / GPS / PlatePix™ / Voice Control / Support LTE / Video and Screenshots

While not a 4K unit Viofo have the VS1 which is very small. No screen and small lens so not as obvious as the E1Pro which I do agree is on the stealthy side.

I mean the screen can be set to turn off on the E1 Pro. Yes, the lens on the E1 Pro is more pronounced, but it's not like the VS1 lens is concealed either. In all honesty, the E1 Pro is the clear winner with 4K and LTE (with module). As front facing dashcams, if someone breaks into your vehicle, the E1 will at least take a picture and send an event notification. You're out of luck with the VS1 and Viofo lacking connectivity.

Comparing apples and oranges there. VS1 is somewhat much older device, and while I'd place it as the value pick of last year, this year by a country mile is the E1 Pro.

I am not trying to start an argument I was just mentioning Viofo as a contender for hardly visible dashcams

I created this image for a true comparison. Note that not all countries have the LTE available and I personally think the large Lens of the Vantrue would attract attention quicker.
However Viofo doesn't currently have a 4K version of the VS1 (anything is possible ) so it would depend on what priority the buyer needs the most.
The GPS is in both cameras feet. The VS1 GPS is part of the camera and has a simple very low cost sliding footplate to affix to the windscreen.

When they are side by side the Vantrue Lens really stands out.
The second image is to show nothing was altered eg resizing etc. (It just looked ugly sitting on my crappy desk.)

Hope that clarifies what I meant.

To be honest, if someone is contemplating breaking into my vehicle, I want them to see the dashcam. It's a deterrent that says "Hey Asshole", you're on camera. I'm not trying to nanny cam the situation with concealment. The E1 Pro with LTE Module uploads a screenshot + video if car thief misses that big lens.

The A119 Mini Pro (not available yet) may be a better comparison to the E1 Pro than the older VS1.

Agreed, it should bring cloud to the table to be competitive

Ok. Don't have any info on that model.
What's the specs and when is it getting released?

Another unit that's also stealthy is the 70mai M800 a 4K 2ch unit. Also not released (yet) but i believe available in China and LTE capable.

Generally i prefer a stealthy unit so they all would qualify for me.

The Viofo app says it supports it, so we have a name. I'm assuming it's 4K since the existing Mini 2 is 1440p.

4.2.9

Aug 1, 2025

1. Adapted for A119M Pro/A329TC/A229 Pro Tele/A329WW.

You can setup through APP.

2. Fixed other bugs.

Judging by the changes, Viofo is preparing to release Mini Pro.
For those who don't need many cameras.

@JeWell

Thank you very much for the disassembly details and pictures. I'll be disassembling both units when they arrive to improve on the cooling. I'm fully aware by doing so I've voided the warranty, so I'll obviously be thoroughly testing the units first before proceeding.

hello, can the GPS mount also be disassembled? I'm planning to completely change the housing

Is the mount non-detachable?
Peel off the double-sided tape, there are screws underneath, unscrew them, and it will disassemble, revealing a circuit board with a GPS module and antenna inside.

What's the point of removing it from the small stock mount? Yes it's detachable but it makes no sense.

What a clean, shiny hood you have! Need to clean mine up, but it’s been raining quite a bit. Really just can’t say enough nice things about that mighty, but small, E1 Pro. It’s still my favorite!

When the E1 Pro was released, many people were skeptical about it due to potential overheating caused by its compact size.
We had a hot summer; the temperature frequently climbed above +35°C.
The two E1 Pro units installed in my son’s and his girlfriend’s cars performed without any issues.
Neither of the two units shut down due to overheating.

Most systems you can always leave out the GPS info if you dont like that.
Mind you in a pinch and a court your cheap GPS would not be admissible, but your actual 100 % for sure speed can be ascertained from the video itself, as the time you take to cover the distance between 2 things, and you can go measure the distance between those two things.

Denmark not known for hot summers, but i have never seen a system overheat under normal operation, even bitrate tuned also small cameras like for instance the Joovuu cameras did just fine with bitrates 2 X the normal.

I dont know where this fear come from, CUZ in here it is not often i have read about it.
