no I mean, manually press the power button on dash cam and check if it can be turn on

was 12.2v /always on , until now it easily managed 14-18 hrs overnight when parked

It wouldn't hurt to clarify a couple of questions:
1. What parking mode do you use?
2. What capacity battery is installed in your car?

i use the low bit rate recording when parked, would need to check the battery specs

i wiggled the connection into the screen mount and its been working today, i will report back if further concerns

Loose connections are a potential issue in many dashcam systems.

I assume you're referring to the magnetic connection between the E360 and the GPS mount? Mine allows a tiny bit of movement, and I can see on videos that the camera moves relative to the dashboard.

yes , a snap /click type would be prefered

The suction cup mount actually holds on better than my sticky mount.
It does snap in firm.

couple more clips added , apology's the weather has been dull and rainy here, i was hoping to add something sooner

i must say , i hoped for better detail on the front cam , i think it would struggle to i.d a driver or registration plate most of the time , yet the interior view i can read the label on my wife's bag!

would it be possible on a firmware update to have more parking options? say full recording when parked for a set time , then change over impact or motion sensor , or a clock based setting so full recording until midnight then switch to a low bit rate or something?

and a question- is the motion activation only via the front cam?

There's a sub-option in the parking mode menu to select which camera or cameras are used for motion detection

had a near miss today with a oncoming driver not watching the road , decided to replay it and have a look

bit disappointed can barely tell what brand of car it is , no way to i.d the driver or licence plate at all

what do you all think?

My first thought is that you are using the wrong video resolution (fisheye) to capture the greatest amount of detail for this camera. I have a comparison of various resolutions settings here: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threa...ew-vantrue-e360-ace-dashcam.52186/post-631936

I would recommend trying either the 1440 or 1944 resolution setting for the forward looking camera.

I agree with @EricSan that the fisheye is good for wide coverage of what is happening around your car, but not for resolving details. If there had been a collision here, your camera would have shown that you were not at fault.

Driving between trees into the sun with glare off the dashboard and windscreen is also a very challenging scenario for many cameras. A high-bitrate standard lens dashcam with a CPL filter would be much better in such a situation.

Can you read the licence plate on the rear camera?

I still run this (fisheye mode) and for now I think I will keep it in the car alongside my current Viofo - it's the perspective of seeing out the side which keeps me from removing the E360...

okay well today its dead /not working , power at the supply cables , ground secure , good battery voltage as the car still runs
