The Vantrue X4S is one of the easiest and affordable 4k dash cameras on the market. This camera features a 3" IPS screen which makes for navigating the menu very easy even for people like myself with aging eyes. The menu is straight forward and intuitive and the X4S is also able to be controlled by the Vantrue dash cam app via wifi. With the app you can also download and view footage. Alternatively, you can connect the camera to a desktop computer and use the Vantrue viewer where you can view both channels at once as well as view speed and location if you have the optional GPS mount.
 
The front camera features a quick F1.7 lens and films in full 4K while the rear is a F2.0 camera shooting at full HD 1920X1080, both provide a 131 degree FOV.
 
For coverage after hours, the X4S can go into parking mode when the ignition is turned off. For this to activate though you will either need to provide power by either purchasing the hardwire kit ( available from Vantrue) or using a seperate power supply like a portable dash camera battery system. There are 3 modes:

1. Motion - The camera will start recording at a lower resolution when motion is detected by the cameras, if the G-sensors detect an impact during this time, the camera will revert to its original quality.

2. G-Sensor - The camera will start recording when it detects an impact. You can specify the sensitivity in the menu.

3. Time Lapse - The camera will record in a lower frame rate to save space and will revert to full quality if an impact is sensed.

-YES! Both the camera and the Vantrue Cam APP can take a picture.
On the dash cam, we can press the power button to get the picture snapped.

- It is X4S a 2 piece unit?They were telling me it was going to be one unit like the duel setup like the N2S but with Wi-Fi.
- Nope, it is front camera only, but we also add a rear camera as an option. Someone doesn't like dual-mode. If you add the rear camera, then it is front and rear dash cam with WIFI.
