VIOFO A119 Mini 2 Video and Screenshots

Hi there, I have a new mini2, with V2.1 build 20241227 firmware from viofo (latest, doesnt even show on website yet). Im curious about these bitrate mods tho.

I assume these will work just fine with my camera. I am going to try 2560*1080 also, as that looks great to me. Which of these firmwares is recommended? thank you guys

Try first how your model shoots with the firmware installed. Perhaps you will be satisfied with everything and will not need to flash.

Probably true, but there is a possibility that Viofo have updated some hardware and your camera needs a newer version, it is over a year since that mod was released. Also, your current firmware is not currently available for download, so putting it back is not straightforward!

Note that Viofo will have fixed and improved a few things since the version that mod was based on, the old version is not necessarily better.

As Karagandinez says, do test the camera out and make sure it is working OK, before you start modifying it, otherwise you don't know the cause of any problems, and if the quality is satisfactory then I would suggest not modifying it until a newer modified firmware is available and known to have something you want.

thats good advice, i'll see how it is. am getting a cpl today, and will try 2560*1080 with high bitrate with stock fw.

I found my son's memory card with footage of a dark ride from April 30, 2025, taken with an A119 Mini 2.
Here are some screenshots from those videos.

The inside of the car's glass isn't entirely clean. There are traces of fog visible on the glass.

I recently tested the Mini 2 with a 1TB memory card.
The Mini 2 recognizes the 1TB memory card and writes to it.
The only change in the Mini 2's operation is a delay before recording begins.
The Mini 2 turns on, sits silently for a few seconds, assesses the memory card's capacity, and then begins recording.
The tests were conducted with a 1TB memory card from Vantrue at home, and the Mini 2 worked for about 60 minutes without any issues.
It's unknown how long the Mini 2 will last with a memory card of this capacity.
