Viofo a119s stopped working in 5 days....

I am currently using, among others, an a119s and I have been mac only for 20 years. No problem so far.

The only thing keeping me from tearing them out of my car right now is that I run two, one forward and one rear, so I'm not totally paranoid that I will have zero video in case of an accident. But if with this last firmware update on both the A119 and A199s cameras in my cars I still start to get issues, those cameras will be gone. Love the features and format of the cameras but reliability is a deal breaker on dash cams.

are these V1 or V2 cameras?

powered via the GPS mount or direct to the camera?

They are V2 cameras. One is powered through the GPS mount and the other through the side camera mount. BOTH HAVE FAILED AGAIN!

Today I checked and one failed 2 days after my prior post when I upgraded the firmware. The other failed yesterday. This is totally unacceptable reliability. As icing on the cake, when I removed one of the cameras today, the USB connector would not come out of the camera and the connector pulled out of the cable and is stuck in the camera. Going to see if Amazon will take both of them back given I started the return before the return period expired, but did not return them since there was a firmware release to "fix" the lock up issues. Apparently there are other issues as both cameras are still way too unreliable for the purpose they are sold.

I really wanted to like these cameras, but after numerous failures in a short period of time, I'm officially giving up on the A119s cameras.

I think the last two I ordered from Amazon were from OCD Tronic. Before these I returned a couple other that were listed as V2 but what I got was V1 from another seller.

if it's @OCD Tronic you can follow up with them directly

Did you end up testing the cards yet? Power and memory card problems are the two most common causes of this issue

Yes, I ran the Mac Disk Utility on both cards (Lexar High Endurance 64GB and Transcend High Endurance 64GB) and no problems found. I also ran SDSpeed app on both and no problems found. In window shots below Lexar is the faster card.

I just ordered a Street Guardian SG9665GC V3 2019 Ed. camera to replace both A119s cams in my car. Will put the Street Guardian in the front and install one of my old Mobius Actioncams in the back.

I can vouch for OCD Tronic's fast and helpful customer service. I had to return a V1 with a faulty lens and I had a new V2 ready and shipped to me by the next morning pretty much. Easily one of the best sellers I've dealt with on Amazon.

I have no problem with the seller. OCD is very good and responsive by all I've seen online. I really wanted to keep my A119s cameras as I think they have one of the best set of features and image quality for the price. I would have even paid $50+ more for the A119s if the bugs were worked out. I realize it is a fairly new camera and some issues on new products will arise. But for me the cameras have been too unreliable to use as a dash cam. I hope Viofo gets the bugs worked out soon. Then I may buy again. For now I'm going with another cam (2x the price) with less features but a longer track record for reliability.
