I'm staying on 26/18. I see no point in taking from rear and adding to the front IMO. 24/20 would be great. Happy holidays.

Created new A129Duo - STABLE versions 2Uj , 4Uj , See post #1 of this thread for details and ChangeLog.
These MODs are based on newest official VIOFO FW v1.50 , increased Rear camera Bit rate.
Higher Bitrate MODs improve image detail and increase MP4 video clip size.

Probably more hassle than it’s worth, it’s only a double button press anyway and you don’t even need to be able to see the unit to do it.

Can you explain the numbers in the slashes in "override BitRate Menu to increase ... to 22/22/8/7Mbs?" Does it mean Bit Rate Low/Bit Rate High/BR Low Wifi/BR High Wifi + APP?

Also, how difficult is it to edit the menus? Can you add/expand options in the menus? For example, under Bitrate, can you have Low, High, Super High?

I figure you're just hex editing and not decompiling or building the firmware from the SDK?

Looks like the rear window is dirty - unless you can point out the exact artifacts....

If you refer to the noise that is visible at 0:38, I confirm - it is present on every firmware that I used - official and MODs

The back window gets damp - my car isn't airtight enough. But I hadn't seen that "square blockiness" before, yes at 38 and around 48-55.

Now I know what you mean. To me, it looks like poor noise reduction algorithm.

The way pictures quality is damaged is actually threw noise reduction (denoise). In photography you want slight noise and slight denoise. The more noise reduction is applied to image the worst picture quality it gets.

It seems noise reduction is factory standard but as we increased picture quality the lessened the effect of denoise on the noise which is apparent in poor lighting conditions. Just a theory. lol

Hello guys, do I understand it correctly the A129 Duo hasn't buffered parking mode? Do you thing it will be added to the firmware? Is it possible? This is the only reason I hesitate to buy this awsome cam. If I don't buy it, I will buy the DOD RS500S because have not found better camara with such a video quality.

not supported by the chipset, keep in mind buffered parking mode exists to improve the poor results of motion detect which is not reliable otherwise

Ok, so when someone bumps into my car, the only possibility to record it is the motion detection. But when the motion detection fails I have no evidence the car bumped into my car. This is why I want the buffered parking mode.

Why do you use this camera when it has no buffered parking mode and the motion detection is unreliable? You either don't need evidence for police or insurance company or there is no other camera with such a quality and features and offering the buffered parking mode. What is the reason?

I use either timelapse or low bitrate continuous recording when parked, so I'm not relying on motion detection at all.
