When you download videos, where are they on your phone ?

I think they usually store them in the gallery/photos directory. Try opening the gallery app or if you download the `Files` by Google, it lists the recent files so that could help you trace it back. Also check if there is a specific named directory after your dashcam (BlackVue, etc. etc.)

hmm, i thought i could see it in on my phone somewhere rather than the B/V app
 
Downloading footage means it should be on your phone.
That's the whole point of downloading them.
It's probably easier to view them and access them from within the app, but they should still be on the device's storage (SD Card or internal storage) and be available offline.
 
Seems they are marked as hidden and can only be accessed through the app. A technique used by numerous apps that store data.
 
Once they are downloaded to the app you can copy/save them to your photo gallery. At least that’s how it works on the Apple version of the app

But, you have to use the app to move them to the photo gallery. They are not available to see from the Finder app.
