Pretty much a the title, I've found a couple of sites
and
I'm not familiar with either of them and I don't really want to use fleabay....

I know the D21-4k isn't a new model, I'm looking at upgrading my other car - the S1-4k is just too big, Blackvue won't sell direct to UK anymore and the only Thinkware that I'd consider, I already have.

I don't know the current status of retailers, so let's ask @VUEROiD for any suggestions. There was a vendor mentioned in one of the previous threads that was advertising Vueroid products, but they were not authorised to resell as I recall, and were not going to receive any product to my understanding. Those listings show the D21-4K, a fine camera, but the S1-4K is the latest one on the market.

Thanks - as my original post, the S1-4k is just too bulky, Ideally I'd want the S1-4k in something akin to the D20 form factor but unless they've started offering bespoke options....

It does seem strange that they're not widely available, even on Amazon. I can sort-of understand they want to do phased rollout of new models so as not to overwhelm the manufacturing capacity, but the D21-4k isn't a new model so I'd expect the peak to have been well and truly passed by now in their primary markets.

What I find difficult to reconcile, is the need for a screen - it's far too small to see any detail yet makes the housing far larger than it needs to be!.
Most phones have a larger screen and the app integration between the phone and the cameras is generally in the range of acceptable to great in my experience, so to me, the screen is superfluous, I'd much rather some of the cost was spent on mitigating GPS reception issues.

I think the screen issue will be led by some focus group research, probably the same people that go to live events and spend the whole time recording it on their phone whilst staring at the screen....
Or maybe I'm showing my age / upbringing....

Hi, I’m Jessie from Vueroid.
First of all, thank you for your interest in our product.
If you’re in the UK, our products are available for purchase here:
https://dashcamhub.co.uk/brand/vueroid/

Also, regarding the size you mentioned as a concern, the overall dimensions of our camera are approximately 4.5 × 6 × 10 cm. Considering that this is a high-performance 4K dashcam, we believe it is actually quite compact.
I will send you some additional information related to this via DM as well, which may help clarify things.

Best Regards,
Jessie

I've had dashcams with and without screens and personally I'm in favour of a screen. Not for seeing details per se, but for the ease of checking the recording status or changing settings. I prefer pressing buttons to interacting with a device via a mobile app. Certainly the companion app is helpful for some operations such as OTA firmware upgrades or downloading a single video file, and beats bringing the microSD card inside to a computer.

I also operate my dashcams without audible notifications so a screen helps shown things like entry to parking mode or confirm if I press the event button. However I fully understand that some users prefer no screens, and may have a preference between wedge vs barrel style.

I have both the S1 and the A329 on my screen and they are almost the same size. I've had smaller 1-channel wedge cameras and I do prefer those for discreet recording, but I don't expect a 4K 3CH model in such a small housing.

I for sure prefer screen systems, even if most times i have forgotten my reading glasses and so cant really read the little screens.
Mind you i do now have a pair of reading glasses in the car permanently.

I do not use the screens very much i have to admit, probably CUZ doing settings ASO are easier to do on the phone with its large screen.
But some days i really do NOT want to touch that damn phone.

IF ! You can mount on the share area on top of the windscreen, then you will actually just see what little peek out below that, i have that and so it is probably also why my favorite dashcam form factor is the wedge system.
