I've enabled Station Mode on my A329T (press mic+WiFi button). I've set the home WiFi settings in the firmware settings, and it manages to connect fine.
It also remembers my preference and turns WiFi mode back on when the camera turns off/on again - so I don't need to mess around with re-enabling it.

I've also setup an RTSP stream to have a live view (just as a test, as I'm playing around with the possibilities).

My question is - how do I do RTSP from the various connected cameras?
Just doing: RTSP://(device IP address)
It shows the live feed from my telephoto lens.
I'd prefer to see the feedback from the main front camera.
But is it possible to select between them in any settings, or am I stuck with just that one feed which will only change to another camera if I disconnect one's I don't want to live view?

Also, is there any way to increase the feed quality? It typically streams at a low quality, is there any potential for it to stream at a higher quality - or have an option of low/high?
 
I've half figured out the answer to my own question - the RTSP stream shows whichever camera is selected on the camera's own LCD screen.
So when I flick through the different camera feeds on the physical dashcam - the RTSP stream changes on my remote live view.

But part of my question would still stand - is there a way to switch between camera streams remotely? Without pressing the button on the actual camera?

You may send a CMD via Wi-Fi using HTTP to dashcam as it works in official Viofo App to switch between connected cameras. But all this commands is undocumented. Somewhere on forum was a thread about CMDs findings on previous models.

I am not as enamored with Station Mode, it simply is not user-friendly or intelligent enough to be of any use, to me anyway. Download speeds are atrocious the further away the car is, or the greater number of walls, etc.

I am waiting for VIOFO to provide a Cloud feature set in the dashcam and access to a Cloud service they have contracted with. For me, Cloud is the ticket.
 
Agree, I've had a play around with it, and having to access file through a web page to download, and slower speeds than normal put me off.

Using the normal Viofo app whilst in the car is more user friendly that Station Mode - but station mode is a step closer to remote access which I'm hopeful for in future.

More comfortable/convenient to use the "normal Viofo app" while sitting in your living room, or at your computer!
If you connect the dashcam to your home wifi using station mode, then it doesn't matter if the dashcam hotspot is out of range of your computer/phone. As long as the app and dashcam are connected to the same network then the app should work...

I think you missed a bit of the video... connecting it to a mobile LTE router instead of your home wifi, so that it works away from home. Unfortunately, that currently requires the use of a VPN to be of any use, but it is doable, and the app will work too.

That does work, and Station Mode is a step in the right direction but isn't user friendly to set up or use it it's fullest.

One main drawback is that WiFi turns off when in parking mode.
So you park the car, go inside the house hoping to view and the Station Mode (WiFi in general) has turned off due to parking mode.
So you either need to keep the dashcam active, to use it, or sit in the vehicle using it normally with the app.


Compared to other companies such as BlackVue - you can view and download footage from inside the house even when the camera is in parking mode.

I know there are scripts I can use to download all the footage to a network storage - but I don't want that, I just want to pick and choose what and when I want to.

It's nothing against Viofo when I compare BlackVue access, as they're different companies that have taken different routes for their products.
Viofo dashcams are excellent and surpass BlackVue in many areas.
 
As I'm still interested in this whole topic, I'll just throw in my thoughts on what RTSP should provide as a replacement of the hdmi support.

My use case is a bit niche though: I'm thinking of using the camera(s) as part of an IRL live streaming setup for my nephew. He's really into Twitch at the moment, and I think this would make an interesting (and kind of unique) addition to his setup, while still offering the regular functionality of the product. While this might not be the primary use case the camera was designed for, the lack of consideration for modern content creation workflows - especially live streaming - feels somewhat outdated. Given how popular platforms like Twitch (or even tiktok live streams) have become, supporting such scenarios could expand the appeal and versatility of a product like this. But then again, there isn’t even the option to switch between the available (additional) cameras without having to change the firmware. It’s a bummer, especially for a product that otherwise feels so on point with its hardware and features. I was really looking forward to the A329S.

Thread 'Automatically Uploading Files Feature on A329S/T: Do You Need It?'

We implemented a file uploading to the FTP server feature. Does anyone want to test it?

1. It supports uploading all of the files on the memory card to the server. We found some business customer interested in this feature, they want to upload all of their files automatically while the car is parked near the office or home.

2. Only uploading the events files. While there is locked files saved, it will automatically enable Wi-Fi station mode and connect the hotspot, then complete the file transfer. After the files transfer are completed, Wi-Fi will be turned off.

I haven’t followed the discussions recently. Are there any updates on RTSP "live" capability after the removal of HDMI support?

Edit: Found a video - the live streaming capability is trash, unfortunately.

For living streaming, it is better to use the HDMI port version.

We have done live streaming testing in China and streaming to the BiliBili, Douyin(Tiktok) successfully, and the video quality is excellent.
