Yes, I was trying to find a polite way to confirm that it does not have adjustable EV. I checked the Yi website support page and downloaded the brief manual, but found no answers there. Some YouTube videos suggest they were recorded with EV + or -, but that could have been a different model. In the end I decided to ask in a forum page where other owners could perhaps answer the question.
I think the guy must have tinted windows where the camera are going, and want to compensate for that.

If the entire window is tinted then the camera will adjust exposure for that, just as it does between a sunny or cloudy day.
The only reason I consider setting EV other than 0 is to compensate for particularly dark or light areas within the frame, such as a white or black hood visible above the dash at the bottom of the video.
