Zenfox T3 Triple channel dash cams free test invitation, limited quantity

I turn 54 in August, and the pension age in Denmark are 67 now, and i dont expect to see that.
Which is only good cuz the age pension are only half of the early retirement pension i get now ( for some reason ) and i cant see how i would be able to sustain a life at that amount.

Moral of the story is you can't rely on government pension to sustain you into old age. You have to put money away in investment and savings, even if it's painful to do so. As long term, this money will be needed to supplement any funds you get from retirement.

So at 54, are you drawing a pension now or still working?

I have a question, maybe @jokiin knows it better. Is the thermal sensor integrated in to the SOC, or pcb, or both. If there are both, which one would be responsible to trigger the cutoff fist?
doesn't appear to have anything in the chipset itself, no mention of it in the specsheet at least, so any configurable cutoff point would rely on an external trigger, clock speed can be changed in firmware so a slight underclock might help if it's reaching the limits of the processor, whether it could still do 3 channels if underclocked though is an unknown

No been on early retirement since i was 50.
I could probably maintain some kind of job, maybe work a cash register or something, but it wouldn't be long before i would kill someone.
Aside for the physical problems, i was also diagnosed paranoid and even schizophrenic, both i dont get myself, i might have a too healthy disregard for other people, but i dont hear voices or stuff like that.
I was also amazed i got early retirement as it is no longer easy to get ( for decades it was used by lazy social workers for people that dont want to work )
There are examples of people here in job training having to bring a bed and lie in it for most of the short work day,,,,, and not get early retirement anyway.

i estimate there is a few 100.000 people on early retirement here that really should not have it, cuz there is nothing wrong with them other than being lazy.

My back are not good, all the way up - my shoulders are also not too good - one elbow also not too good, and my doctor say i have 50 % lounge capacity, but i feel it is less than that, i get short of breath just taking a bath.
But at least i am not on pills, other than the regular pain killers i do eat a bit too often, and i also have some of the strong ones ( not from my doctor cuz he will not give me any for some reason ) but those i only need if i have been pushing it too hard, and i have not done that for a few years now.
When it is bad, it feel like someone have plunged a big knife into my chest and just missed the heart.

On a random note, did anybody notice that the notch microSD card is upside down? It's usually on the topside facing the raised edge of the microSD card. I always found it confusing when trying to insert the card.

will depend which side of the PCB the card reader is mounted as to which way it faces, the sockets are all the same

Thanks for the information. I did searched for the datasheet but I couldn't find it. I guess I didn't searched hard enough, didn't know where to search or it is not available for the general public yet.

the datasheets are not public

It may be that Horsontech / CLD have already solved these issues as they're selling this variant plus a 4K HiSilicon version in the same mould? @jokiin are they a factory you've done much with?

no, I know them but haven't done business with them, I've had one of these for over a year but mine is 4k + 2 x 1080p, I haven't seen the HiSilicon version so not sure how that compares

There's spec sheet on the horsontech 3 channel Dash Camera. Their camera claims to be 4K. Wonder how well it works.....

Is this who is manufacturing the T3 for Zenfox? Or are they using another manufacturer?

https://horsontech.manufacturer.glo...mera-Dash-Cam-3-Channel-Car-Dvr-With-WIFI.htm

If you've had a 4K and 2 x 1080p camera, has yours worked reliably? Who manufactures the camera you are using? And if it is possible to make one of these, why is the Zenfox running into problems?

that's not real 4k, different version again

What version do you have? And is the one you use real 4K? You stated you had a 4K + 2 x 1080P. Does yours have parking mode? Does it over heat? Or is it reliable? And if reliable what manufacturer makes that one?

yes real 4k, I don't know if it's available as a production model, it's not a product I was interested in so didn't have any further follow up, if anything 4k + 2 x 1080p would tax the processor even more than the 2k + 2 x 1080p version you have now, 3 x 1080p would probably be more sensible

Was the product stable or you didn't test it rigorously since you didn't plan to market the camera Curious to see if a true 4K with 2x 1080P could run reliable in hot weather, support parking mode, and not overheat. If so, then what that manufacturer did right Zenfox did wrong.

No long term testing, not enough resources to spend time on products that are not ours, parking mode would be unlikely, no 4k camera is good for parking mode, these types of cameras are about the Uber driver market, not as a security device, I wouldn't expect parking mode as a priority for the target market anyway

Only a few of the "Uber" inquiries I've seen here were concerned with parking modes, but it would be nice to have one that works in any cam- especially those which advertise having that function. And it does seem that 3X 1080p would probably work better. Tuned well and with a good lens 1080p can give very good images, enough for most people. But people want to 'hear numbers' like 4K or at least 2K as that is more up-to-date compared to other camera products, so having something less will probably cost at least a few sales.

It's likely that we're going to need the next generation of processors before more than 2 channels becomes a truly useful option in dashcams as even some of the current 2-channel cams push their processors hard and have problems. Or we're going to need better cooling solutions than we have now- gotta wonder when someone is goinmg to come out with active fan cooling? Or if it is even capable of making a worthwhile difference? But of course you don't have the extra power for a fan while parked so it would only help while driving.

As it has always been and probably always will be, adding channels reduces video performance and reduces reliability. Always a compromise.

And then I've removed some of the tape on the EMI to allow the heatsink better contact over the shield and SOC/CPU. Course the heatsink will have thermal paste connecting it to the shield.
I think you need to remove all of it, otherwise you will need a thick layer of paste between shield and heatsink, and that is the main problem that needs solving! Biggest gain may be from removing the pink goo but it is the tape under the heatsink that has caused the problem...

The tape is meant to shield the cable for the front and rear camera. So it serves a purpose. I'm not trying to create another issue by allowing interference. I intend to peel back tape but not fully remove it.

Yeah Uber drivers tend to also want the cabin camera to be off when driving private, but i think the T3 can do that alright and just do F & R mode.
Parking mode i cant recall being a want much for uber people inquiring in here

I mean the interior camera is one of choice. I don't like being filmed, but I have come to realize, the interior cam offers better coverage while I'm driving. So if there's a problem, you have a better chance of capturing more of the event.

Per parking mode, I absolutely want the interior camera running. While not 365 degree coverage, it does see out some of the sides. So if someone does something, there's a chance it'll be on video. Whereas, there's zero chance on a front / rear camera you'll capture what's happening.

I.E. Let's say someone backs up and clips your car because they parked too close.

I'd rather be given a selectable menu to choose what cameras I want on during park mode than disabling the interior. I'd choose interior only and disable front + rear. But anyone without a second camera would disable interior and keep front and rear most likely.
