The Vantrue E1 Pro is a very small single channel dash camera released in Feb 2025 by the Chinese manufacturer Vantrue. This dash cam improves on the popular Vantrue E1 particularly when it comes to video quality.
The E1 Pro is based on the Novatek NT96675 processor and Sony Starvis 2 IMX678 CMOS sensor. In the past, Vantrue was known for lower cost, lower quality dash cams. With E1 Pro, the Novatek processor and Starvis 2 CMOS, this camera has good specs for a low cost dash cam.
Video Quality
The E1 Pro records 2160p (4K) video at 30fps with an average bitrate of 32 Mbps. Video quality during the day is very good and night quality is good. We are quite impressed with the video quality as it is real 4K and the cam is available at a reasonable price.
Features
The Vantrue E1 Pro comes with a 1.54″ screen, g-sensor and has built in GPS. The camera supports both 2.4GHz an 5GHz WiFi and has apps for Android and iOS.
The E1 Pro offers the following parking modes if you hardwire it to your vehicle (optional hardwire kit required):
- Buffered (Records 15s before to 30s after an event)
- Low Frame Rate (Time-Lapse)
- Low bit rate
- Collision Detection (records after detecting motion)
The E1 Pro comes with an adhesive mount and cannot swivel to record interactions at the driver or passenger windows. The squarish form factor is quite small with dimensions of 50 x 44 x 44mm. While the camera is lightweight, build quality appears to be good and we have not heard of complaints related to the hardware.
The E1 Pro supports cloud connectivity when the Vantrue LTE module is purchased separately. This allows you to view life footage remotely, track your vehicle and receive event notifications on your phone. Another unique feature is the 1TB MicroSD card support, one of only of handful of cameras that supports this size.
Support
Vantrue has good support and is responsive to questions. They also provide firmware updates which is a positive as well. Vantrue provides a 18 month warranty, which is much better than most dash cams.
Known Problems
Runs Hot
One of the most common complaints on this camera is that it runs hot. Some users indicate it can be too hot too touch after running for a short period of time. This excessive heat may reduce the life span of the camera.

Should I Purchase
The Vantrue E1 Pro has very good video quality, small form factor, 1TB MicroSD support and optional cloud capability. Unfortunately the camera runs hot so longevity is unknown. A reasonable buy at the price with the reliability being up in the air.
