Help hardwiring my G1W

If this is too much for you, you can always ask for help at a local car audio shop. Those guys will immediately know what to do regarding trim removal and hiding cables. If you bring all the stuff with you, they will just charge you for the labor and you can be sure they are not over-charging you for the parts.

I agree and recommend the same.

1. if @Noobpc not too familiar with car electronics, - no offence, me also not a qualified specialist, just enthusiast as most of us here ;)
2. 2012 corolla should be still under manufacturer or dealer warranty
2. - therefore I dont recommend to mess around yourself and just bring car to specialist with all accessories. They will charge you a little bit for labour, but at least you will have peace of mind of everything being installed correctly.

As I have already said If you have no idea of what to do get someone who does to SHOW YOU how to do it.

The results of wiring it wrong and causing damage may be many times the cost of getting an expert to do it.

Everyone has to learn but going ahead blindly when you don't seem to understand the most basic instructions is not the way to go.

Even the fact that you should use a multimeter to find the correct fuse has escaped you.

You cant just connect to a fuse that you "THINK" will be the correct one.

Your car your money your life.

I've wired all the back end stuff in my car. The convertor is plugged into a spare fuse socket that luckily happens to be ignition switched. (The symbol on the fuse diagram looks like a caravan) grounded on the side. Tested it and it works. Just waiting for my USB cables to arrive. It's been ten days since dispatch...

Currently have my phone charger plugged into one of the sockets, tidied away the cable nicely!

Dw, I'm not brave enough to try anything on my car. The whole reason I created this thread was so i could learn. I've already got a voltmeter handy, for when the parts arrive so I can test the correct fuse sockets.

Most likely I will, in fact, go to a car shop to see if they can just show me how to do it.

OK I've taken a couple of pictures of my setup.

First pic is of the two USB cables coming through the side panel to the glove box.

The voltage converter is on the right. velcroed to the side with dual lock tape.

Even ppl who know f..k up once in a while ;)

Once when i put some CB gear in my car, i messed up, and let me telly you 2 foot wire witch burn do not smell good :(
Actually most shielding on wire produce acid and other nasty stuff when it burn,

PS. my CB gear survived my messing up + and - :D

PPS. Lucky it diden happen when i wired my audio gear in same car, those wires was larger than a garden hose, and fuses and caps was pretty "heavy" too.
