Mini 0805 new Firware 20141101 - 60FPS

Hi all,

bought my second 0803 last week and it came with 20141101 firmware. Noticed the main difference is 60FPS recording and about 10 options in the menu now for size/rate etc

Anyone tried these and can see an actual improvement? Is 30FPS better as you can fit more on the card?

UPDATE - THIS APPEARS TO BE AN 0805 THEY SENT, NOT AN 0803 - DO NOT FLASH YOUR 0803 WITH THIS FIRMWARE

Assuming you're using the supplied adapter then it sounds like a faulty battery

I remember last time some one did that Tobi@s had to patch the firmware somehow to make it work for everyone. You may want to upload it here and let him or someone else take a look at it before you go and put it on another camera, or it may cause your other camera to brick.

I almost bricked mine with a firmware that someone pulled from their 0803 and uploaded here before he fixed it.

Is that 1080p 60fps or 720p 60fps showing in this one?

Only reason I ask is that the Mini uses the a7la50 as far as I know and that doesn't support 1080p 60fps - or at least not reliably and it will crash?

It might be worth uploading it to Mega.co.nz please and then someone like @Tobi@s can check it out who's an expert on the 0803?

Hmm ok they're the 0805 settings - it looks like it's an 0805 you have there if it has those settings?

Amazon, ordered 2 last week, ones on 20140912 firmware and then this ones 20141101!!!

How odd, boxes are exact same, both still say 1296p SuperHD on them

Both dispatched by e-prance £63.99 on Amazon with GPS, no internal memory

If one is an 0803 and one is an 0805 you might have issues flashing an 0805 firmware to an 0803
If they are both 0805s then you did indeed get a great deal.

With the 0803 an ELF file might be able to fix it, but I am not sure how to use them. I'm sure someone who does can chime in.

Did you compare the image quality between the two while they were both still working?

People would like to know how much improvement there is between the 0803 and 0805, sounds like they are almost indistinguishable at the moment!

If you explain to Amazon that when you updated the older one with the firmware from the new one it stopped working so you need it replaced by another of the newer version... Not surprising it stopped working as it has a different sensor.

I'd like to have a look at the firmware. Can you uplaod it somewhere? Did you extract it with an autoexec.ash script?

Yes it was extracted with an autoexec.ash file just today

I'll upload it in the next few hours and past the link - unless I can email it to someone as I havnt uploaded a file before. It's 16mb in size. Thanks

Oh one thing I did notice is that it dosnt get remotly warm, even after 45 minutes recording at highest level. Other one (using same SD card) got very hot very quickly

You might be able to attach it to your post. I'm not sure the file size limits for attachments though
