I downloaded the new FW update and installed it on my camera and it updated successfully. So far it's working smoothly and the one thing I noticed that now works correctly that wasn't mentioned in the release notes is that when you turn off the camera or even swap batteries it now remembers the settings you had last chosen instead of resetting to the default. It still forgets the time and date if you swap the battery though, although I did notice it automatically sets the time and date if you connect it to your phone with the wifi, I don't know if it always did that though. That is nice but it is still important that it can remember the date and time when the batteries are getting swapped and you don't have easy access to your phone. It also takes a few tries to get it to connect to the iOS App with the wifi, it eventually works but it takes a few tries. I'll record a video of it later.
I don't have an "official" test unit, but I got the SJ7 I ordered from banggood early and have been putting it to use as an action cam. Can I be added to the test group, I don't have any video expertise but I have lots of user interface/user experience suggestions and am willing to help bug test and record videos for others to examine. So far I am pretty happy with my SJ7 but look forward to it getting even better with future FW updates.
One suggestion I have for future FW updates would be to have some sort of Favorites/Bookmarks for your most used resolution settings. It's annoying to have to scroll between 4k 30FPS to 1080p 120FPS to 720p 240FPS, so it would be nice if you could choose 3 to 6 of your most used settings and have a separate favorites menu screen that just has the resolutions you picked to be on there and then from one screen you can select which resolutions you want to swap between.
Another suggestion to improve the video resolution selection screen could bet to break it up into 3 columns Resolution, FPS, and asspect ratio (16:9, 4:3, SV), then you could fit more options on one screen instead of scrolling through a long list you scroll each section quicker. It would be like the date set up where you have Year - Month - Day.
