Viofo T130 3 Channel Dashcam - 2K Front + FHD Interior + FHD Rear

If memory cards in dashcams could be like a sim card tray in a phone, that would be so wonderful i think.
I would personally gladly pay a few USD more for that feature.

If it was a smart cam with build in 4/5G like some now have, it would be a match made in heaven.

if you mount it down low on the windscreen, it should not be all the way at toe bottom as then the vipers would block the view, at least in my car they would.'
There are a lot of differences between cars down there, some cars only have one wiper that disappears from view, mine has two that park at the bottom and inconveniently both miss the bit of glass I'd like to put the camera behind, but it still works quite well, well enough that you didn't notice!

@Nigel how easy is it to insert and remove a microSD card from the top of the camera, if the camera is mounted near the top of the windscreen?
It is very easy to take out the card, you need to rotate main body of the camera and the card will be in the front of your eyes.

The only thing to pay attention is how much to rotate it back, but this will be without any problem if the main body rotation will be at the maximum bottom position.

Yes i would put a couple of marks on the camera so i could always rotate it back to the sweet spot.

It is not a super big problem, that would be if you had to deal with it daily, but i only go to my dashcams 1 time a month,,,,, okay a bit more often on test samples.

Such marks should be done from the moulding when producing the camera body.
But again, if the correct position of the camera is at the Maximum bottom then you will obtain the correct positioning of the lens.

And many of today's cars have a 'sensor pod' located at the mirror which this could fit onto or below where something like the A139 might not do as well
For sure someday some dashcam company will create a dashcam to fit the "sensor pods". Who will be the first, will be a winner.
Even T130 will fit OK under the sensors pod, it's not created for the people who want just 1CH recording or 2CH front and rear. I can not imagine a very big Viofo fan which will buy T130 and cover the interior lens because this means money lost, heat, and wasted space on card because camera is always recording all available channels.
Another option is to point the camera to the side of the driver window and record only the road like Nigel did, but I consider that area is important only in parking mode.

I dont think so, these sensor pods on windscreens seem to be very different in design too, so probably hard to make a 1 size fit all dashcam housing here too.

It doesn't have to be a flush "molded fit", but only something which mounts closely like the T130 seems to do. Based on Nigel's pics it can attach to the bottom of any sensor pod or to the windshield at the same place, whereas a 'wedge' cam would have to mount to one side as it would be too long (low) to go under a sensor pod. And those pods seem to be getting bigger as more stuff is added to them. Seems to me this is the way forward if you're not doing remote cams.

Thanks for the great review Nigel.

Lots of great info.

Just received mine just now. Can't wait to try it out.

Thank you, I'll look forward to your review, I've left plenty for people to investigate and report on, but you know what is new and interesting, and worth a deeper investigation now...

I think this T130 is a much better form factor than the A139...
It is a different style with some different features, more suited to some cars and to some drivers than the A139, but the A139 is also a good dashcam, they are just different. People have a choice to make, just like they have a choice of which car to buy...

The rear cam cable is too big. I can't put it that the cable comes from the top. Have to put it coming from the bottom.

I like that you can control the IR cam modes by pressing the wifi button instead of going thru the app like the A139 or the settings menu of A129.

You can mount the camera with the cable the other end, then the cable comes from the top, and you need to set the rotate and mirror settings in the app!

Same as the right angle part goes up will be blocked by the windscreen from rotating to the correct angle.

Ahh, works fine on my car, but it will depend on the angle of the rear window.

This is a good reason for using straight plugs on the rear cable, but lots of people have complained in the past and want right angle plugs!

I guess if your rear window has a very shallow angle then you could add a spacer block between the mount and glass to give the cable room to curve.

This is a good reason for testing in a variety of cars.

@Nigel,

Does the front unit (interior lens) pivot up and down and to the left? Or is it only able to be pivoted left?

A video from the interior camera with it pointing to the side window in daylight, in a right hand drive van with it mounted the correct way up ... hence no driver!

I had the radio on ... so you can hear the intelligibility of conversations in the cabin... well, you probably won't understand a single word, I was in Wales 😉

Now I want a version with two interior cameras, one either side for left and right views!

Hey wales is pretty! I've visited Snowdonia before. But ya, even if they were speaking English (and not welsh) doubt I could understand them anyway LOL!
