VUEROID S1-4K Infinite_FIRMWARE

The Vueroid HUB app has been updated.
You can read about the new features at the link below:
Immediately after the app update, the new firmware for the S1-4K (V1.4.2) will be downloaded.

the major change is as below

*firmware
- video quality is enhanced ( IPC mode )
- HDR timer for IPC mode
- privacy mode added ( turn off / on , inner cam and audio , using long press view mode key
- Added low power mode entry time "auto" option.
: check the battery level pre-configure power off voltage, and change to ELPM mode automatically.
=> just set the power off battery level and set it "auto", S1 will working normal parking and ELPM accordingly .
- fixed Varios minor bugs.
- GPS strength check menu added.
*Hub app
- streaming transcoding function added ( normal , low) : live streaming and VOD
- Timesync with mobile function added. (HUB timezone setting
- VPN detection popup on Hub
- Cam installation guidance is added on Hub
- rename function added
- more stable wifi connection.
- live view map control advanced
- ETC bug fix and UX is advanced

- Added low power mode entry time "auto" option.

My previous settings (FW V1.4.1):
- 1 Hour of normal parking recording, then automatically switch to Extreme Low Power Mode (ELPM)
- Dashcam power off at 11.7V

My new settings (FW V1.4.2):
- ELPM entry time set to Auto
- Power Off Voltage increased to 12.0V
-- I assume the S1 will record in normal parking mode until the voltage is 12.0V, then automatically switch to ELPM
-- Without a second cut-off voltage, will the S1 remain in ELPM forever if I leave the car parked for a few weeks??

Yes.
The power consumption in both Power-off mode and ELPM is identical at 1 mA/12V. Aside from ELPM waking up due to an external shock, I am confident that the probability of battery discharge caused by ELPM is extremely low

That is an impressive figure of 1mA My Camry (Aurion) is reported to draw 20 - 50mA! And that is when it is parked and gone into sleep mode

I would think the Camry powers more sensors and functions in "sleep mode" than a dashcam does, though. Subaru Outbacks run between 20mA and 70mA or so. Of course, this depends on how many gizmos are on the Outback.

when we designed the S1, our most focal point was. the following product will have same feature, and in terms of engineer side , it's most difficult point to implement

When you set a high bar, even if you are all that, often it is anything but easy to keep the bar up there.
But one should of course try, CUZ the people putting the bar anywhere lower, well plenty of those.

Thanks for the extra data on the Subaru.
That was exactly my point when I mentioned the Camry's 20-50mA draw—it’s interesting to see how much more a car's sensors and functions consume compared to such an efficient dashcam.

There's some well thought-out features in that release, the horizon line and sync GPS time will be very useful to installers, the other changes seem to all be positives (to me as a non-owner), sometimes you read the details of firmware releases and think 'why did they do that?' - not just dashcams either.

That's good news. Sorry for our mistake again.

Apologies I missed your reply. No problem at all; firmware OTA upgrades can be tricky, with users on various different versions and many permutations of upgrades. What is most appreciated is how fast the small bug was fixed.

We've already added a 2nd Vueroid S1 4K-3CH to a family member's car and are planning for a third S1 4K Infinite in a relative's car. And the latest 1.4 firmware installed without a hitch on both. If / when my old Blackvue dies, it will be an easy choice.

In the latest V1.55 firmware, there is a new option under Parking Recording Type for ELPM called Hybrid Mode. Anyone knows how does this work? It was defaulted to OFF. It was set ON before the update. I usually let my dashcam continue to record with Impact + Motion when parked until my power pack battery voltage drops to a pre designated voltage, after that it will switch to ELPM. How different will the hybrid mode be ?

Hi there,

It's really great to see you here. We've been talking through DMs for quite a while, so stumbling across your post here was a pleasant surprise.

You can pause the video and refer to the table that explains the different parking mode configurations.

Let me know if you need more.
Have a good day~

Thanks for the reference video, now I am clear on what setting to use for my needs.

It's nice to see a rep from the product company that has a presence in the forum. It helps to clarify any queries or doubts, thereby reducing the no of repetitive questions from consumers.

I can say with certainty that the after sales service from Vueroid is exemplary. Not every dashcam maker will go the extra mile to support their end users.

Thank you !
