I’m sharing my custom firmware build for the 70Mai A810S based on 1.5.40ww.
Main changes
- Main recording stream bitrate increased by +25%
- Reduced bitrate for album/preview copies by 2x (from ~17 MB to ~8.5 MB per file, with nearly no visible quality loss at 480p)
- SD card video quota increased to 98% (was 92%)
- Full Wi-Fi mode control via SD
config.txt:STA / AP / OFF / NORMAL - Custom Wi-Fi SSID/PASS support; default AP password is now
multipass - Legacy-style startup script support
apkmntshell.sh - Web Admin (Beta) at
http://<dashcam-ip>: control features, gallery, log download - FTP enabled (
root, no password):1= SD card access,2= full filesystem access - Telnet enabled (
root, no password)
Flashing
- Download
FW98529A.zip - Unzip it
- Copy
FW98529A.binto SD card root - Insert SD card into the camera
- Power on and wait until flashing is complete (do not cut power during update)
Notes
- AP SSID can be customized, but it must keep the
70Mai_****mask for app compatibility. debug=1enables custom script logs, but can block stock SD formatting from UI.
