Ambarella A12 DAB205 or 202,201

I recently bought a DAB201 as well, the only thing that attracted me towards the dome products was the A12 chip. I have two Ausdom A261s and have had great luck/success with both of the cameras. Ausdom is a better product when it comes to quality, over all package, built in GPS etc etc. The DAB201 seems to be lacking all three of the aforementioned qualities.

The front of the 201 is made of metal but the bit that needed to be metal i.e. mounting point at the top of the camera is cheap brittle plastic. Mine cracked open on the top only after hours of use. From what I could gather the quality difference in video is minimal at best, not enough to warrant the quality and gps compromise.

If you are dead set at getting the Dome cause of the a12 then get the dab202 as it has the screw in mount rather than snap/friction fit.

because most people have only 1080p screens, that is the whole point. you don't need to be smug about it.

My point was, that it simply makes no sense to purchase a cam that has features that put it above others and then neuter it to show that it might not be as good as another camera.
Clearly this is a sore subject for you, so I'll let it be. Enjoy your dashcam.
