I noticed my G1WH rattles when the engine is under certain load which causes slight vibration. At these points, there is a noticeable rattle from the camera.

I've put tape over all the buttons but its made no difference.

Before I take it apart, has anyone any clue what could be the likely cause?

Do you have a diesel engine car ?

I don't. Either way, it still rattles. I'll open it up at some point, see what I can find.

I will update this thread when I do with my findings.

After you open it, check speaker. I had lose speaker in few cheap dashcams.

@niko is right, loose speakers can often cause a rattle inside the low priced cameras. I found an easy way to fix this is to use a small wad of Blu-Tack. It will cushion the speaker, hold it securely in place but will allow the speaker to easily be removed from the front half of the housing if you ever want to do any work inside the camera again that might involve removing the front shell.

I had a look inside the camera today and the battery wasn't fully stuck down as it was positioned over the camera ribbon cable
.

I've moved the battery over and stuck it down and also placed some sticky pads to the battery on top to cushion it against the front casing.
